Wink Innovative Motor Mount Problems Revisited - AcuraZiners Get No Respect

I couldn't resist this "I Told You So!" post.

It's been a full year with the 3rd gen design of Innovative motor mount installed and it's still holding up. The 3rd gen is 'vertical' and distributes the energy across the face of the mount/bushing. The 2nd gen is ‘horizontal’ and the energy is concentrated along a thin edge resulting in increased vibration and premature bushing failure. See 2nd gen pic below.

3rd Gen Mount Pics

2nd Gen for reference - note this is the 3rd redesign of the 1st gen mount. This lasted mear days, as you can see this design is flawed.

We had a few of us on this forum trying to help Innovative, but they blew us off. Well a year later the design I recommended is still holding up.

That said, the 3rd gen design didn't fix the rear mount vibration problem. It was slightly better and I recommended that Innovative increase the diameter of bushing to absorb more energy, and to make it a 2 stage bushing setup. Meaning a softer inner bushing with a harder outer bushing. We'll never know if this would have worked, but it was the right direction.

I'm hopeful these new mounts from a new manufacture will do the trick, so cross your fingers and say your prayers.

I set fire to mine & sent them back the melted & chard pieces with a letting of dissatisfaction.
I'm serious. Don't think I even told anyone here.
Never heard a thing back from them.

However I will say I'm still running the side mount & that has held up great. Almost 2 years now.

I still have the 1st generation set brand new in box. I also have one 2nd generation side mount brand new in box. I'm trying to decide what to do with them.

I wish you had pics of that! I can just imagine the look on their faces.

Its a shame these mounts suck and IM doesnt want to address the issues. They are a relatively good company for mounts (for other cars of course).

The way they handled the CL mounts was ridiculous and I wouldn't use them again for any other vehicle because they showed that if there is a problem they will just ignore you so there's no trust. I wouldn't lable them relatively good I would say below average

Didn't think of doing anything like that, but I did send them a flame mail. They never responded to my last three call or two email.
