Inched out a new G37

At first I thought it was a new Altima coupe, but after he passed me I saw it was a new G37 coupe.

We went from a 80 roll, up to about 120mph (all 4th gear for me). I MAY have gotten a little jump, but he def was racing, and he did not gain an inch, and I think I may have even pulled a tiny bit.

I had my fiance with me also, and he appeared to be alone.

I'm sure some wont believe me, and I'm sure from a stop he would beat me (esp on 16" winter tires), but he def couldnt pull on me.

ehh, kinda hard to believe but its nothing outrageous, he might have been in a higher gear or shifted earlier than you at a lower rpm.. and im positive from a stop he would leave you behind, rated at about 5 seconds 0 to 60 manual transmission.. i also think its quite ignorant to race at those speeds especially if your fiance is with you?? maybe im wrong..

Nice race. Those G37's are fat porkers at 3700lbs or so. Even with 330hp they are still slightly slower than the new G35 sedans that weigh 200lbs less. They run high 13's just like you.

i've kept up with a g35 coupe manual in my legend, from similar speeds. I can see your pulling with him at those speeds also, honda V6 motors are beasts at higher RPM's and speeds.

our highways around here allow for driving 100+mph easy.

It was 8pm on Friday night, on a 4 lane expressway with barely anyone on it. Trust me if it was really stupid she'd be screaming her head off, but it wasnt. She actually was on phone and said sarcastically, 'omg we are going 120mph.'

I probably did catch him in a higher gear, but I also could have shifted to 3rd, but decided to just go from 4th.

And from a stop he would DEFINITELY kill me, no arguiing that.

Anyway that's really impressive, are your rims lighter than stock?

Steelies are actually relatively light at ~18lbs
Lighter then most stock Honda/Acura wheels, it helps I suppose that they are 16" or 15" for those of us with smaller brakes

Yeah but the tires are alot heavier. My steelies weigh almost identical to my 19's. I'm sure stock wheels are lighter.

Nah, for comparison I got my worn 16's at ~34lbs while the TL wheels with tires on the same scale were ~47. The difference between new and used tires is about 3lbs so not a drastic difference there either.

i think its very believeable especially when street racing. if someone gets the jump the other guy is basically playing catch up the whole time. but i think you would have had to have at least 1/2-1 car jump in order to pull on a g37 fromm 80mph-120mph. Even though the g37 is super heavy it makes power all the way to redline literally. check out this dyno.

nonetheless goodkill. i miss my CL it was 10X more comfortable than driving the g35 but not as fun
