Impressions of OBX headers after 2 days!

OMFG!

That is what I said after my car really woke up late Saturday night.

I was showing a friend what a difference the headers did, and now every 1-2 shift I spin the tires. When I get to 5k of rpms the car plants you back in the seat really damn good, and the car has some serious torque steer now.

In 1st gear the car is begging for traction, if I leave VSA on the light is on all the time in 1st flooring it.

That was one of the best mods I have done ever on a car to make that much of a difference. The car defintely has at least another 20 hp if not 30. I hope to somehow setup a dyno for me to get these dynos soon. Not sure on when I have time to get it done, but hopefully soon!

Now I wonder if I can hit 14.3 at 99 mph like some... lol! I only did 15.3 stock but I wasn't really use to the car and spun off the line bad.

My HKS exhaust sounds like a v8 now especially when I get on it. The car sounds so throaty sounding from the engine, hehehe sounds MEAN.

Why a day or two? I thought the ECU adjusted to mods pretty quickly, and I can't imagine there's anything that has to 'burn in' like the tranny on a new car for example. Any ideas?

Your car must be a SLOW LEARNER.
I left rubber out of my friends driveway immediately after the install.

i actually started a thread about this exact topic like 3 weeks ago....i dunno, there was no final conclusion on it, but all i can say is that it was a NIGHT and DAY difference from the day i installed the headers (it was a saturday) to the day they REALLY made themselves known (that monday morning on the way to work)

I could only guess the following...

Afer few runs,,, the inner tubes would get coated by the cabon deposits smoothing out the collectors and covering all the bumps inside the headers... hence, the improved performance.
