Impressed.

my CL wipers were flailing at the rain trying to clear my view. this morning after work, i decided to go to the nearest open lot. my intentions were to push my car to the wet handling limits. first i started on the large section of the lot. i was able to attain speeds of over 50 mph and cause the traction control to constantly go off. though i was able to reach the speeds i wanted ont the larger of the lots, it was in pretty bad shape. i now decided to disable the VSA and proceed to a smaller lot. there i was only able to reach about 40 mph. this is where i was able to really try to force my back end to whip around. to my surprise, no matter how hard i tried, i was not able to cause a spinout. i tried different variations with the accelerator, brake and steering angles all to no avail. this tuna boat held it's own in the water(it was really pouring down for once). i was actually trying to drift under WOT. i was attempting this since this is my first FWD. it definitely is a weird feel on the wheel but easy to direct. i really had the body roll going which i never see through even in aggressive road driving. i will go for it again once i have my Illuminas installed.

i think i will have success at a spinout at higher speeds though i know i can happen at lower speeds on the oil-slicken roads. with ever careful driving, i have yet to experience a loss in control with my Acura. what experiences have you had? whether it be good or bad. thank you for your time. my little bs story has concluded.

Cool.

There is a wide open , high speed turn going in to my folks neighborhood. Just the other day I was hitting it pretty hard and I felt the rear end wanting to let loose. It was dry. I have actually never felt that before and I like to corner pretty hard from time to time. The next time I get the chance, I want to find a p;ace to mess around and push it to the limits.

Well, seeing how I drive it on snow and even do the city a favor and snowplow the roads...I'd say the CL-S does decently on slick surfaces.

That actually happened to me a couple weeks ago during day time, with a lot of cars still on road. Making a turn to gas station from complete stop, I waited till the right moment and WOT into a 90 degree turn. My wheels spinned till about 30-35mph, then it took off. Next thing I realized I lost control over my rear end, car started to spin around, it turned around 360 facing same direction, still moving. For people around it looked like a 360 degree trick, but I was really shocked, cause I didn't plan to do it.

I got some good practice when it snowed here a few months back. I got to say it handled well. Btw, sounds like you had some fun, it's good knowing what our cars can do!

My car's an understeer monster. Can't break the rear end loose no matter what I try. Well, besides ebrake. Maybe depends on the tires eh?

When I read your first sentence, tires were the first thing I thought. Mine was the same way with my old Falkens. The car behaves completely different on the new General Exclaim UHP's. The sidewalls are stronger and I can barely get them to break loose, even at WOT thru a turn. They are grippy little suckers!

I was able to drift mine around a really sharp turn. It still stuck to the road, but I felt it slide around the bend. Never did I not have control though.

Some guy in a TL at an old FL meet did a 180 on top of a parking garage with the ebrake

i had tried all this in dry conditions and it just wouldn't budge. so yesterday i went over there thinking i would have some funning sliding and spinning around. but as you guys read, it just wasn't the case.

I've made mine break loose. It was fun, but scary at the same time. It was going through a twisty in the mountain. I took the turn a litle too hot, fluctuated the gas too much, and around it strted to come. Just gave some more gas, counter-steer, and it straightened right up.
