Black Magic Wet Shine Liquid Wax

I used this product yesterday just because Consumer Reports rated it #1 actually much higher than P21S. it was on sale at wally world for 4.50 so I thought what the hell I'll give it a shot. I had just washed my car and dried it, then in the shade at around 7pm I applied it. It went on very easily as any liquid should, but it took a while for it to haze(20-30mins or so). Then I started to remove it with MF towels and it was a bear to remove. I assume this is not a wax but a polish as it acted like a polish in the removal stage. When I was done I was actually very impressed. The finish is smoother than after using NXT and the color appears deeper and yes "Wetter"! Overall it takes a while to use this product, but the results were awesome! Very impressed.

warning: watch out for smearing with this product. even after 30 hazing time it was still smearing some.

30 min. to haze...OUCH! Maybe it's designed to applied in direct sunlight. I've always thought of black magic to be one of the lower end OTC's, so I've always avoided it. I'm pretty sure if it is marketed as a wax, it is. It probably has mild cleaners like an AIO. If you like the end result, than thats all that matters. Plus, the price is def. right. Post some pics if you get a chance.

well it is rainy here today and will be again tomorrow so pics will not do justice. We will see how durable it is after the rain stops and I wash my car again. Also on the bottle it says to apply to a cool surface in the shade. It may have been a little humid out maybe 30-50% humidity and I am sure that had some effect on the hazing time which actually seemed like it needed more time to haze, strange? I would recommend giving this product a try. I would have never bought this stuff if I didn't read the article in Consumer Reports and then see it on sale for $4.50.

I read the same article in Consumer Reports and picked some up.

Ive tried Zaino, Gold Class, NXT, Turtle, Nattys Blue and a bunch of others and I have to say I like the results of the $6 bottle of Black Magic. I was shocked when I saw it was top rated but leedogg and I both used it and liked the results.

I let it cure for 4 hours in the garage and it wasnt easy to get off but thats because I took my sweet time buffing it off.

It was rated highest in durability, shine and ease of use so I will see how long this stuff lasts. Looks NICE right now though

I think a vast majority prefer the use of MF towels.

read the same article and got it Wally Word also. Was a bit hard to remove, but in the end I would say that I like it. I too have used a variety of product both high and low dollar and was quite surprised. Now to let time tell if it is really worth it. And btw, I would add that I think it brought out a better color on my girls Orange Element.

Any preference on brand and size of MF towels? For those who use them to wax, how many do you use during a typical waxing?

As a point of reference, I can go through as many as 7-10 terry cloth towels when I clay/polish/wax, just to make sure I'm always using a clean towel.

I did a clay bar first. Then I used Zymoil liquid cleaner wax. About 15-20 min cure I think. Used cheesecloth I got from Pep Boys and it came right off without much effort. It's super soft and scratch free cotton. Then I used a MF from Wal-mart. I had to sprinkle water on areas that looked more oily on my RBP. My finish came out smooth as glass. Check out the bottom of this page for pics of my results...

funny how some of us spends 100s on detailing products and some spend a few bucks.....but the result looks great. Next time, I will definitely go cheap.
