man, sorry my bro had a similar experience and basicly the dealer told him he was sol. He was told that the minute he drove the car of the lot the car lost 5% of it's value. Ur best bet will be to sell it privately at a minor loss.

Dunno, but I know Cali has no cooling off period, so you can't return a car simply because you don't want it. Don't know how every other state does it.

I know many brands do have a 3 day return on cars. Seems like my used Acura had a 3 day return option.

Yea, Acura Certified Pre-Owned has that but I would doubt any car dealer would take back a New car like that. At that point the car has been registered, so it used. Unless there is some New York law that allows you to do it, you'd be hard pressed to get them to take it back, and even if there was a law, most dealers would probably say screw you, we're not taking it back. I think your best bet is to do what you're doin know and try and sell it privately as quick as possible.

Maybe the place selling the MDX can give you an offer to buy the Pilot, as long as you agree to get the MDX. They may work with you on the trade...

and you'd save a lot on the sales tax if you can trade it in, you'd only have to pay sales tax on the difference between the two vehicles. but you'd make more selling it yourself.

Scan your Honda paperwork for the “Right of Recession” clause.
In PA it’s 3-Days.
All states are different.

the pilot was $32000 with navi, then add $1800 for extended warranty to 75k, 7 yrs. the MDX is $35500 with a shit load of options and 14k miles on it and it comes with the 7yr warranty included. I mean the MDX is just leages ahead of the pilot even tho every one in my family thinks I'm nuts. There is nothing i can do now except take a small loss on it and sell privately for 31000. I don't know how much longer i can go without driving it. any dealer isn't going to buy the Pilot from me at cost. I was told to drive it for a year because trad in value is the same now as it is in 11 months, no matter how much the mileage.

Honestly, I would stick with the Pilot. You don't know how nicely the MDX was treated its first 14k miles. The two cars really are identical below the sheetmetal....

Just do a Google search for: Right of Recision automobile new york

And you will see the info.
It's 3-Days like I thought.

Man keep the pilot. Why pay more for a used car that has identical mechanical parts

Stick with what you have man. Pilot is a great SUV.

Usually the 3 day right of recission ONLY applies to Home Solicitaion Sales when the saleman comes to your house not in situations where the transaction occurs at the seller's place of business like at the dealership. The right to rescvind is commonly misunderstood. I would be shocked if your contract has anything in it about a right to rescind w/i 3 days.

Yeah man, just chill with the pilot. The hit you take trying to sell it now would probably negate the deal you get for the MDX.
