I'm jumping in...Hello
3 month lurker here, and I would like to introduce myself.
I'm buying a 2001 CL this week in beautiful condition and I would like to thank you guys for having such a nice, well maintained and informative forum.
This will be my first Acura after wanting one for a long time.
I am a DJ and really heavy into mobile A/V and clean nice looks to cars. I am definitely NOT a racer.
I absolutely LOVE this vehicle and want to keep it running and looking good for a while and any tip you guys have will be much appreciated.

The car has approx 90k on the dash, and I checked the VIN and also I noticed that the tranny had blue bolts like it had been replaced. I hope to God it doesn't have a bad tranny, but I did pound the hell out of it on a test drive. I'm getting it off an Army vet from FL. Any tips for keeping my tranny in good condition?!?

Avoid being harsh on the transmission. Meaning do not use sport shift and downshift hard from 5th to 3rd while doing spirited runs. IMHO, do not even use sport shift, and do the 3 by 3 method.

Like they said. Save up for a new tranny. Preferably an odyssey or get 6MT conversion. I'm planning on doing that for my next tranny breakdown if I do have one :P 160km on 2nd replacement
I was under the impression that SS was easier on the tranny..

....and yes, Mike, I agree with all who say that doing a swap is gonna be the most satisfying, esp if you like to do road trips! The CL has great seats for that... my SLK's seat abuse ur rear end!
