Unhappy I'm going crazy! Pinging around 2-3k

I've had this problem for a while now and I think its getting worse. If I put a small amount of load around the 2-3k rpm range, I hear a tick tick sound (sounds like electricity sparking or something). I don't hear any detonation at WOT though. So far, I've checked the plugs (looks fine) and, just today, topped off the tank with 6.2 gallons of 100 octane gas.

I have a Comptech SC and about 119k on the car. Both o2 sensors were replaced around 107k (replaced with oem ones, not bosch) and the egr valve is new too. I did get a multiple misfire CEL a few weeks ago but I think that was due to my failing Comptech FPR (I rebuilt it and works great now). No other CELs besides that. Could the knock sensor be bad? I know replacing the knock sensor isn't easy... its underneath the head.

I've read pretty much every past topic on pinging problems and haven't come accross any solutions. Might just have to take the car to the dealer and pray that they can fix it.

Thanks,
My

Wow. Not sure what to say. Electrical sound? I would check that out immediately (shocking revelation, eh???!!!!).

Does Comptech support their stuff when issues like this come up? Sounds like you have had a bad time with their stuff. I have a few comptech parts and they have been top notch but the SC was a leap I was afraid to make.

if it was the knock sensor you would more than likely get a CEL

i get similiar sounds and im not boosting. it almost sounds like solenoids opening/closing to me, im still trying to figure it out.

whats your fuel pressure at idle and wot.

Car idles very nicely and I get 40psi at idle and 100psi at WOT. At the higher RPMS including WOT, I don't hear any pinging, even at full boost. I've driven it with the blower belt off too so I know the problem isn't due to boost at low RPMS.
