im finally going to upgrade my stero system after sitting in my friends GS300..holy sh*t he has a madd nice setup...
anyways i want to leave my stock headunit because i think its pretty nice but want to add a subwolfer in the trunk and change all the speakers.. if i add a subwolfer with the stock headunit will i be able to control the wolfer in the trunk???(the bass)
and also will my navi. voice still work with new speakers?? (this is the reason why i dont want to change the stock unit)

could you guys tell me what is a good system? and also what amp should i get and how strong should the amp and woofer should be? plz post some pics of your system and details

 

A few of us (So Cal boys) went with the Focals for the front set up powered by Xtant amp and for sub you can go with JL Audio 12" DVC. Focals are French made and quite expensive for the Utopia model (msrp $1,100) for the 6.5" or you can install Polykevlar model #165k2 like I got right now and they still sound better than anything I heard before.www.focal-america.com

I have in my 1st gen 2 JL Audio W# woofers run by a Zapco 350 Amp... GREAT COMBO!!! Its pushing about 400 watts... I left in the tsock Bose system(better in 1st gen than in 2nd)... I had a box built to fit my trunk toi maximize about 3/4 trubk free space... I think JLs need 1 ssq ft per speaker... my pics link is in my sig.. check it out...
