I got a ticket for modified exhaust and improper start tonight in NY. Does anyone know how many points improper start is? And I didnt think you could get a ticket for the exhaust, i wasnt gonna sit there and argue with the guy but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem. He said it was illegal, I think thats a bunch of bullshit.

Thanks, no I didnt even do a burn out or anything... just kinda took off a little bit. Didnt speed, just accelerated to the speeed limit and the cop pulled over like 5 cars and started writing out tickets, saying we were all drag racing? I was like wtf? It was by a HUGE car meet. Rt 9 for anyone in NY.

 

That's what happens when cops are only required to have a high school GED.

 

Had an Edison cop here in NJ try the same bullshit. It's legal and that ticket won't hold.
