Ideas to fix 03 CL-S6 issue?

Hey guys,

When I'm coasting to a stop and I press the clutch to disengage the engine, the car will almost stall. It well dip to ~500rpm and behave like it is stalling, but then it will get back up to almost 1000rpm. Then it will go back down to 500rpm and do the stall thing.

This cycle repeats like 3 times, then it stays at about 1000rpm with no issues. Only happens when engine is heated up (not when cold).

Any ideas? I'm thinking vac leak or IACV, but the car idles perfectly in neutral.

I have pretty much the exact same problem only difference is mine only dips to ~450 once then jumps back up to where it should be. It idles perfect and I just put in a new IACV 3 days ago and it's still doing it although I haven't reset the ecu yet. I do have a few other symptoms but I'm not sure if they're related

Hmm, I'm thinking it might also be a dirty EGR. I'll clean out the intake manifold and IACV to be sure.

1. cleaning the IAC or replacing you have to do the idle re-learn procedure
a. disconnect battery or pull ecm fuse
b. turn EVERYTHING OFF in the car
c. start car and let it idle for 15 minutes

2. Cleaning EGR is easy on these motors, remove plastic cover and top plate and take a pipe cleaner and clean each hole out. Throttle Body cleaner can be used sparingly to get the stubborn stuff off.

does pulling the ecm fuse work just as well? I've been dreading disconnecting the battery since I just got my stereo setup perfectly

My problem turned out to be the A/C compressor kicking on. That caused the engine RPM to drop enough for the shudder/stall symptom, then the car would rev itself to balance out.

To test this, just turn the A/C off. If the problem stops, the A/C compressor is having to work too hard for some reason.

^ Because crank pulley. I have the same issue in my Accord, even with the stock size pulley.

I've had this problem for years. Way before I got a lightweight crank. Even when I had an automatic tranny, I would notice the lights dim when the A/C kicked on.
