I want a extended warranty but I am concerned.
The dealership that I bought my car from, the only one in my town that sells Acuras, wanted $1600 for a 6 yr 100k warranty, and it wasn't even from Acura. They said Acura does not have there own warranty. They said they have something small called Acura Care but it doesn't cover near as much as the one they sell?! I am confused guys. I paid $800 on my Nissan for the Gold Warranty, for 7 yr 100k. What you guys think?!
I not sure who I can go to and get a GOOD warranty, not some cheap place anywhere. I want to make sure its covered.. Thanks.

Can you at least call another dealer (even if they are in another state?????)
The reason I mention this is.... Mine was a 7yr/100K and it covered the "big stuff" and wasn't as expensive as what you're talking about...
Could it hurt to just run-up a few bucks on the phone????

I will make some phone calls tomorrow to some other cities close by and see what I can do. Good idea.
I also saw www.acurawarranties.com seems like a good place too.

I tried the link and it was dead...
Could this be the one? www.acurawarranty.com
There is also a link on the Acura NSX site of medium interest:
http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/ownership/extended.htm
(I'm not endorsing the link's info one way or another; it's just some more info...)

So anyone know if these guys are legit ??
I've decided I'm going to buy an extended warranty too.
Hey Speedy, you don't have to buy from your dealer.
My father bought a new SUV back in '99 here in Houston
& ended up buying his manufactures backed extended
warranty from a dealer in New Mexico that was considerably
cheaper.

Was it a pure Acura Care one? Not some other aftermarket one? I heard too many bad stories on aftermarket ones and I won't buy a aftermarket....manufacture only for me!

Acura Care/Factory Warranty...
Ok, for info, I just supplied "info" (not endorsements of the link(s))...
Prompted out of curiosity (the dealer did say it was an official Acura Factory Warranty) I got my paper work (buried) and at the top of the Warranty (blue form) it has:
Acura Care (at very top center)
AND at the top of the "boilerplate":
Key Terms
* ADMINISTRATOR means American Honda Finance Corporation
Price was $1383 (I got an offsetting increase in my trade-in [$400 more]) to "cut" that cost (I was squirming at the time and was on my 4th walk out the door)...

I just did a run though on their "quick quote"
& got a $1000 for 7yr/100k with $50 deduct
another $175 buys a $0 deduct
they also list this at the bottom of the agreement page:
" If you have any questions, please contact American Honda Finance Corporation:
Customer Service
P.O. Box 2225, Torrance, CA 90509-2225
or Call (800) 999-5901.
For Roadside Assistance
Call (800) 594-7400 "
I'm still surprised the dealer didn't try & sell me an extended warranty at the time of sale.
They actually tried to sell me an extended warranty on the wheels & tires BUT not the vehicle , strange
