i wanna change the instrument lighting color
what bulbs do the instrument guage lighting use? its the really tiny bulbs which light up the speed and rpms, basically the whole guage cluster. i think its number 74 or 76 but i wanna make sure before i order.

@ Baylove! And then... And then... And then...
I think this is a great idea but my question is this... Can you do the clock and all the a/c controls as well as the window buttons and lets not forget about the factory radio? I can't imagine you could do this to the radio. I would just want it to all match.

There's a lot of effort that has to go into replacing the lights with leds. Not worth the effort IMHO.
If you want different color guages buy another car
Rbf351 https://acurazine.com/forums/members/rbf351-12097/ did the conversion on his CL (he's still on the forums, but has a TL now).

The only one that don't require soldering are the guarge lights and the odometer lights, and that's only if you want them in blue.
If you want them in hyper white, then you would need to solder them. And every other light - the climate control, the clock, the sunroof switch, the reset/select button - all require soldering no matter what color you get them in. I don't know of anybody just replacing the current bulbs with different ones, I was going to try that but never got around to it.

i've done it before...changing the bulbs to led's on everything except the gauges wasn't that hard (i didnt do the radio because my cd changer broke so i got an eclipse headunit that allows me to change its illumination to match the interior). the gauges are a PITA because of the needles and stuff. i found an '05 TL cluster at a junkyard for relatively cheap and i'm going to attempt to do a transplant. almost all led conversions require soldering...

yea as others have said..this mod is way too much hassle for hardly any rewards..IMHO the guages in the CL-S are ill and the color combo on em looks sick...if youre gonna go to all that trouble in the lighting department do it on the outside, where people will actually notice apart from yourself (i.e.- sidemarkers, fogs, stuff like that)

I did this like 2 times allready. They send me the wrong bulbs but i still took everything appart. Its not that hard honestly it just takes a while to take all the screws out and then either jam the led's in the hole or take some more shit appart because its going to be a tight squeez for the LED's to go into the same spot as the bulbs. It took me like 2hrs Id say from start to finish. I am doing it again this weekend to change the color.

Im not that great with electrical and that kinda shit but this requires no skill at all. Its just unscrewing all the screw (not that many) and they are pretty visible and not hard to find. I would not pay some one, just wake up at like 9am one sunday morning and start it and you should be done by 12am taking your time. Thats what I am going to do so PM me if you have any questions.

So did this Rbf351 guy use LED's from someone reputable or a random LED company? I've read all those threads and saw no evidence of him going through someone reputable. Not knocking him, just pointing out what I took from those threads.
