I need some help with new car buying...
So today is my mother-n-laws B day and she wants me to go with her to buy a new Toyota camery. She thinks I can help her get a good deal since I have purchased a few cars before, so how should I go about it. I was thinking I should call the 2 close dealers and talk to a random salesperson and tell them that we will be in this afternoon so I want him to get together the "best" price he can get...and I will let him know that I will also be going to another place right after to see what there best price is. I will tell them that we will be buying the best one so make it good. So how does that sound guys...any other hints or tips?? Also she wants to find an 03 not a 04 and it will be a base model with nothing fancy...she doesn't want all that.
Thanks yall

Edmunds.com is listing the TMV price on the '03 Camrys as only a couple hundred bucks over invoice.
I recommend printing out the edmunds page witht he TMV price for the specific Camry you are looking at and bringing that with you. Then, at the very least, demand the TMV price. I bet you could do even better though since the '04s are right around the corner and the dealerships might be looking to offload the 03 models quickly.

I have owned a 4Runner, Celica, Corolla, Camry, Tacoma 4x4's (2), etc...You should never pay more than $500 over invoice on a Toyota--ever. They may be even offering cash back right now on certain models, though I doubt teh Camry is one of them. However, the Camry is the best selling car in the US and you likely can get it for only a couple hundo over...
Just go to Yahoo or Edmunds or something and pick the car with options you want, print out the price, and not offer more than the $500 over invoice. Period. Move on to the next dealer if they say they can't sell it for that...

I'd just show up and find the youngest salesman there. Tell them your deal (they'll be hungry just to make a sale unlike those who've been there for awhile). Besides, they always have 86million Camrys on the lot...

Print this out and match or even better tell the dealer to beat it:

If not, carsdirect guaranties the price so u can always do it online. I friend of mine bought a 2004 V6 Accord for 600 over invoice; although they hesitated at first, the next day they called him and accepted the deal. 600 over invoice for a 2004 is not bat at all.... and yes, they matched carsdirect price and offered 2.9% for 5 years.
