Well the past couple days my tranny has been FAWKED up. Shifting REALLY hard and sometimes not shifting at all. I hit 7200 rpms in auto without coming close to pinning it. So i get in my car just now and try and throw it in reverse and i get nothing. I step on the gas and i still don't move, its like im in neutral. Im having it towed either tonight or tomorrow morning. It seems to definately be a tranny problem. It has to be shot to hell

Who can i call to have it towed? Will they do it tonight or should i just wait till the morning? Im actually WAYYY over on miles, so i wouldnt mind them holding it for a little while. Still sucks tho

 

So are you saying you are out of warranty? If you need somebody to hold it, it'd be best if you had somewhere to put it or leave it where it is if you can. Towing places charge you by the day for storage. Does the TLC part expire when your warranty does? That's something I never asked Acura.

I mean i wouldn't mind Acura holding it for awhile. I'm not out of warranty (35800 miles) I need to find the TLC number and call them, id like to have it towed tomorrow. I am gonna try driving it home and having it towed tomorrow morning.

I just got home. I tried reverse and it worked somewhat but the shifting still sucks and alot of my lights came on (VSA, check engine, D5 was blinking) I am gonna call Acura now and try and setup a tow truck for early tomorrow.

 

Your tranny is bye bye. The same thing happened in my 98 accord. The drive 4 light started flashing and the car would not go in reverse. Good luck on fixing it ..

 

that sucks bro! last you told me, it was actin normal fawkin slush box :angry: sorry to hear it. When you said you'd call for a ride I didn't think you'd actually need one

 

It was acting normal on the ride to work yesterday but on the ride home it was fawked again. when i took it out at night thats when i lost reverse and all my lights came on. I am lucky i made it home last night. I had it towed at 9:15am to my Acura dealership and I expect to hear from them soon.

 

I think what you are describing is the beginning of the end.

Mine did exactly the same thing and progressively got worse. The lights kept blinking .. the vsa and gear #, and finally it simply stuck in 1 gear and I could only drive up to 55 mph.


I had the same thing happen to me before the dealer replaced my tranny.

Obviously this is pretty common.
