I hate to ask this, but....

I have ordered my AEM CAI and I want to make the installation as easy as possible. I know that the instructions that come with the AEM suck ass, so I want to get other instructions. I know that Chod has put up step-by-step instructions with pictures on his web site, and I know that I am going to use those for the install. The problem is that everyone, including Chod, says to use the instructions that Xephyr used to provide for the taking out of the old air box and resonator. I checked his website, but it has been shut down. Anyone know or have the instructions that X used to provide? And before you flame me, I did a search with no results.

TIA

nono, his (Chods FAQ) site is up .. but, the link to Xephyr's instructions is (obviously) dead, and so we are wondering if anyone has the instructions Xephyr had on his site?

No, Chod's site isn't down. I was talking about Xephyr's. I guess he's closed the doors on his "business."

Actually, I'm only missing the airbox instructions. The resonator
I have instructions for.

However, it is very easy.
If you look straight down at the airbox,
and follow the edges of it, you see (3? 4?)
nuts holding it down. Remove those with a
socket wrench.

When you lift that off, you will find it is held onto the flexible ridged tube via a spring. Use a screwdriver to jam it under the spring to lift off the accordian tube thing.

Then the bottom box where the air filter is held down by 1-2 nuts, one of which is deep and you need to pull the battery out for.

I will post another thread asking for someone with a digicam to send me pics to make it more clear.

I think I downloaded the pix from Xephyr's site to my hard drive at home. I'll look when I get home and if there, will email you with pix as attachments.

Allo allo.

I have now put complete instructions on my site. Let us be free of 'X' forever!!!

I've also added a new page which enables you to print out complete (but very brief) instructions that you can use during the real installation.

So now you got no excuse for coppin' out.
