i been getting a sqeeky noise in my front driver side wheel, i took it to my dealer and found that shock is shot and leaking, only suspension mod i have is Comptech Sport springs. Because they are great dealership, i'm getting 2 new ones underwarranty.
i'm pissed with these results. and comptechs says you dont have to replace the shocks when u buy springs.

I had a front stock shock (strut) mess up so bad that I could feel the wheel bounce whenever it hit a small bump. I got it replaced under warranty as soon as I had a chance to get to the dealer. Supposedly, this is a normal problem with our front struts, and it is possible you would have had the problem without the springs upgrade.

We’ve got members with 60,000 PLUS on their Comptech equipped cars.
How many miles TOTAL on the car?

Man, I'd love CT springs but every time I'm just about to do it, I read a story like this or someone complaining that even though everyone says they didn't need a camber kit and their car is supposedly aligned, they're still going through tires like mad.
yep, those springs are a big step.
i was told that honda makes some of the worst stock struts, combine that with lowering the ride height, and yes, some will end up w/ blown struts. not a big deal, not something to worry about.
maybe save up and buy some real struts.

but that doesn't matter, because I don't know about you, but my cl-s doens't have any struts.
Uh, once you put sport springs on your car the stock shocks will be under more stress than usual and it's just a matter of time before they go. It happens. Some members will experience this in a short span of time, others may never experience it.
No one should be surprised.

If your not gonna put shocks in, you should have cut the springs.

I've been thinking of waiting till I need the stock shocks replaced before I add springs (50k miles
). That way I can install a spring/shock combo. I haven't decided if it'll be a CT springs/Koni shocks or Teins setup.

honestly, there really is NO horror stories that all these non-spring having members speak of....IMO you dont even need a damn alignment, but ok, so if you want to feel safe, get an alignment, big deal....what else is a problem?? like Shawn S said, people here have 50k plus miles on STOCK SHOCKS with comptech springs...whats the big deal?? and if you blow a shock someday down the line, they are like 40 bucks to replace....BIG F'N deal....there is NO reason not to get springs, the LOOK of the car is sooo much better with springs and it handles tighter also.....if my stock shocks blow out, i could care less because i know my ride looks cool as hell and handles better than stock. also my tires are holding up PERFECTLY even without an alingment EVER after 7,000 + miles of driving on them....
I've had the Comptech springs and stock shock combo for a few months now and I love it. No problem with the shocks and no noises or anything coming from the springs. My only regret is that I didn't lower the car sooner. But I'd say that an alignment is definitely needed after installation.
Well chamber kit, i need it soon, but thats because i have a really heavy system. my rims are soooo much lighter than the stock wheels. infact when i upgraded my stock rims to axis hagans my car stops faster because of less weight, and i *knock on wood* still have no problems with my brakes going bad on me, when i had stock ones every 1300miles i needed them replaced or machined.

your wheel tire package is the same weight if not heavier than stock. it's all in your mind

The alignment took care of everything so no camber kit was necessary.
