I fawked up bad

So I'm stopping for a quick double-quarter pounder with cheese, super-sized fries and a large coke from mickey-dees...I take the large 8000 oz. coke and put it in the larger hole of our cup holders, pull out and follow this caddy through the backroads towards my neighborhood...and then....

the old fart (must have been about 80) slams on his brakes, turns with no blinker (gotta love it) and therefore I slam on my brakes...and there goes the coke. All 64 ounces of it. like a big pool of carbonated syrup quickly soaking into my shift gate, heated seat buttons, and the panel that covers the ecu terminal. It soaks through to my carpet, on both sides of the console, and by the time I pulled into my garage, it was almost dry (except for the ice) on top of my console. Many explecatives were yelled at this point. I pulled out the floor mats, and from what I can tell, our carpets must be scotch-guarded because the liquid wiped off like it was water on the body of the car. Anyway, I soaked up as much remainder as I could, but I need to pull the center console apart and really clean out all the damn stickyness. I'm also contemplating on taking it up to King Acura tomorrow morning just to have them tell me I'm an idiot for making my car a coke-pool...but I want them to check it all out...

My question is, how hard is it to disassemble the center console? This is huge for me because I can't stand to think about sticky dried-up coke in my shifter! Any ideas?

HAHAHA....a similar incident happend to me before!

I was rolling down the freeway (in my Eclipse at the time) and went to pick up my 8000 oz from Micky D's that was between my legs, when CRACK, the top popped off and the cup immediately flipped upside down into my lap. Soda quickly soaked into my boxers and left me with a sugary/sticky ass. Not fun. Leather seats covered in soda as well as the floor mat.

Oh well, we live and learn. (some of us learn). :P

Yea, i've gotten Rocky Road ice cream in my shifter. it was a pain in the ass, but i got all the ice cream out. we have an aircompresser here, so it turns everything into liquid, then i wiped it up with a cloth towel. shifted thru every gear! good luck, i'd take your car to a gas station, get the air, and blow in there till it turns liquid again. takes about 10seconds with the air in 1 place. try it out, gimme a holla!

Dude...I got you beat. About a week after I bought my '95 Integra GS-R, I was on an on-ramp going into Boston in traffic. All of a sudden, I feel VERY nauseous and think to myself "I'm going to fawking puke!!!" I'm on the on-ramp...bumper to bumper...I got no place to go. I fucking BARFED all over my instrument cluster, the space underneath the emergency brake was FILLED with puke, not to mention my LAP!!!!

My advice to you would be to get the Helms manual and get in there and do some cleaning!!!

I think you'll be best off if you take a large cup of warm water, and pour it down your center console while the car is not running...be sure to allow enough time for it all to drive...that should clear the gummy pop out...I know it worked for me, when I spilled 10,000oz of sweetened iced tea down it...LOL

No smoke at all...I was on my way to work in the morning. Believe me, I wasn't thrilled about the barfing, but the car was only like a month old. I cleaned the FUCK out of it when I u-turned back home, so the smell only lasted a couple days....it was really a terrible experience all the way around.

I had this happen when my car was new (2000). Excpet my liquid was 2 large starbucks lattes. I thought for sure I shorted stuff out. After it dried, I cleaned the shifter area with qtips and alcohol. I still don't know where all the coffee went--it drained down through the console but I never saw it come out anywhere.

I have done 1 million times worse than any of you guys. Its a long story but i'll try to sum it up...

Workin @ Jets Pizza last summer, power goes out, so we have to move all are shit to another store in a cooler so it wont go bad, load up my bros durango w/ all the shit and were on are way, since the power was out the traffic lights werent workin so there was a 4 way stop, its my turn to go when the car to the left of me decided to cut in front of me and go so i had to stomp on the brake to avoid hitting his dumb ass, so a 10 GALLON CONTAINER OF PIZZA SAUCE tips in the back and goes all over the place and into the cracks of the car. It was fuckin crazy, I cleaned and cleaned for hours, got all the sauce out, but some of the sauce that was in the cracks where u couldnt see and rotted over the next couple of days and his car smelled worse than shit, you wanted to throw up whenever u went in the car, so we took the car to a professional detailer, he took apart the whole inerior of the car and cleaned it, It only took him like 8 hours .The guy who detailed the car threw up cause of the smell.
Most people tell me I'm lucky that my bro didnt kill me. He was very pissed I guess he didnt kill me cause his lease was up in a month and plus i got it detailed. But i dont think you guys can imagine how bad the car smelled for a couple of days.
lol
