Hyper Ground Wire - Revisited

Hi,

I know that this topic have been brought up before, but everytime when I try to use the search function, I get crap for result. (any advise for using that properly?)

So anyway, I was reading the lastest Import Tuner, they had a 96 Nissan 240 that they were dynoing, and one of the first mods was the Hyper Ground Wires, and it showed decend gains for the money, and I knew that you guys had talked about this before, I was just wondering what was the final conclusion members here have came up with. Is it worth it??

Here is the link.

Thanks!!

A roll of wire about 8 or 10 gauge a few wire connectors and you can do this yourself .

i've read a couple of articles about this and they all go in saying how can this thing do ANYTHING, but in the end they're always like, "Man, were we surprised!". It doesn't seem as though it would do anything, but there were def dyno'd results that showed improvement.
it comes with suggested places to ground at but once that's done the manufacture suggests experimenting with other spots to get the most out of it.
2 or 3 extr hp --cost is like $60 bucks

well, I was hoping that the people who thought it wouldn't do anything has any data that could backup their side of the argument. Because between the website(for what it's worth) and the results from Import Tuner (same story here), I would almost think that it does improve the overall performance of our engine some what. I might try it out. Maybe the home made version. Now I just got to figure out exactly what wires I need to replace and where best to ground it to.

Hum, so it's basically just a direct replacement? I figure they give you new mounting spots for a better ground.

I for sure will have to check out yours next time we meet.

LOL... I just skimmed a 20 page topic on my350z about that. Seems like those owners notice a smoother revs after 4k as well as a smoother idle. Not sure if it works on our cars.... but if it does... insanemine will definitely figure it out!

Is this all in peoples heads or do you really think there is benefit to this....can't dynos be off 2-5hp just based on the temp difference in the time to install this?

What is the basis of this mod? As in, what is it? What does it involve?

I still do not understand what has the grounding to do with making more power? better ignition? what is the theory here?

It is seems just a kind of scam to me.

better smoother data flow to the ECU is my understanding ...if i were guessing that any sever breaks in the data stream would send the ECU straight into closed loop mode

all sensor feeds digital signals to the ECU nosie on the signal does not affect the operation of the ECU.

I think it has more to do with improving the ignition system in our cars. Maybe on the same line as better plugs and spark plug wires I think....
