So it's 1am in the morning on Martin Luther King Day. Speeding down Highway 261 on the way to Riverside from UCI. Toll Road is totally dark and empty, so I'm pushing my STOCK CL's limits by doing 120mph down the freeway zooming past the mountains. Things are starting to blur...

As I enter Highway 91, I see some red lights in the distance and almost immediately I think, maybe its a 5.0. so I slow down to around 110mph. I pull up quickly and the car switches into my lane right in front of me and its too late... it is a pig....

I'm dead.. this is going to be my third speeding ticket in less than 6 months. My license will be suspended for a LONG time. He's going to get in front of me and turn on his lights and signal me to pull over. As I predicted he turns on his lights and my heart falls into a bottomless pit. I'm soooo FUCKED. I wonder, should I try to make a run? I can't afford another ticket. Fuck it, I'm taking my chances and I push the pedal to the floor asking for more.

But wait....

The cop changes lanes one more time. Oh he's slowing down...
wait... he's going to the shoulder. I look in the distance and there is a car pulled over with a flat tire and no one occupying the car. The 5.0. doesn't pull me over, but goes to the shoulder to check up on the stopped car and I zoom past him at 125mph thanking Jesus, Allah, Buddah and every other God I can think of.

My heart starts to beat again...I'm home free.

Dodged a bullet there. Forget your license suspended... Triple digit speeds usually lands you in jail. Not to mention SEVERAL tickets.

hahaha nice i had a close encounter myself on sunday night my cuzin and i were goin 75 in a 45 bumpin my system and we're both faded outta are minds. THe cop was right behind us the whole time, and then at a light im like oh shit cop, but then he floors and gets my freindn instead. I mean i could been fucked: six months rule, switching lanes w/o signaling goin 75 in 45, dui, minor in possesion, noise polution, no front plate, damn it was close

Next time you're on the road, tell me. It's sad to hear that you take pride in driving like this. I nearly lost my life to a person like you while riding my bike on the 405 2 summer's ago. A reason I believe in the 3-strikes law, this was the guy's 3rd strike for the SAME offense, glad enough, he received 55 years in state prison.

120 isn't pushing the limt of an 01 cl-s but glad to hear you didnt get rolled. I was coming out of second in a 35 zone still on the gas hard when I saw lights flash in my rearview. I havnt got a ticket in years. I was all ready for my first speeding ticket in my car & the guy wrote me a warning.

if you mod the car, like I/H/E/P, is the top speed still gonna be elec. limited at 148? Another question, when u mod it, can you redline higher or is that only with a chip?

 

No the car is governed at 147 so the top speed stays the same for a modded or stock CL.

Also with the auto the car will redline or hit the rev limited at the same points however with a mod such as a pulley it will definitely go through the gears quicker.

 

I have gotten my TL-p up to 143 and then had to slow b/c of the road was getting way to hilly curvy for those speeds, (the 408 near universityfor those fellow O-towners) and it was like 1 im the morning for those tight asses who always complain about being wreckless and crap
