Does the structure of the 04 TL suggest AWD option next year?

I was just wondering if there would be any dead giveaways on the structural design of the 04 TL that would suggest/indicate that AWD would be an upcoming option. If there were, and AWD happens in the TL, then there is at least hope for an AWD coupe based on the TL platform.

I also think a new coupe would probably sell better as a TL coupe than as a CL. The CL has a bad reputation as a success story.

Don't start thinking that the structural design has any bearing on anything. The 2nd gen Legends had the structural design which indicated that an AWD offering was in the future ..... and that was over a decade ago.

Yeah, I know. I was just curious if there was a rough out already placed in the TLs frame for the addition of something like this.--not that I can say I would know what I was even looking for, but someone else might.

go take a look underneath...see if you can fit a rear diff in there somewhere. Is there a straight path down the middle for a driveshaft? That should be easy enough to look for....although rumors are that the AWD hondas will be hybrid, so I'm not quite sure where they would put that sort of hardware.

4MT will be coming about 2006

Service manager at my dealership told me the 4MT AWD system used in the MDX should be available on the TL by 2006. I am sure it will be a down scaled version but still cool. That will be my next car.

I wouldn't take their word for it. Anyone working for dealers are notorious for hyping upcoming products, product lines, ect.

There isn't a straight path for a drive line so a conventional AWD system would take some re-engineering of parts.
Honda doesn't like to do stuff conventional though so we will see later this year when the new RL is unvieled and see if it has a hybrid AWD chassis.

It could be an interesting or disappointing year though.....
