As the title says!

the cel came last wenesday.. during the super bowl sunday, i took off the negative on my battery to reset the ECU.

And today after 2 days with no cel, the cel came back on.

I remember when i had my 93' civic hb gsr, when i had a check engine light, i took a paper clip into a plug so i could read the code.


It is possible to do that with my 03 cls6?

 

i don't think so. just use the tool. what i do is go to a quick lube of some sort and ask if they could check it. they usually don't charge.

 

you're better off with a scan tool.

 

They are cheap now. You can get 1 for $30. Or any major auto parts store should check it for free.

I got an actron 9180 last year at Pep Boys for about 170.00. It has paid for it's self 3x.

I had an intermittent odd stutter/trans not shifting issue, turned out to be the TPS which I never would have known without having the scanner.

it could also be coming on randomly b/c of the cold. usually due to the temp sensor. i had this happen before

you gotta have the obdII tool to read the ecu. Just go to Auto Zone/Advanced Auto and they'll do it free.

 

we dont have autozone stores in Canada

 

That looks cool but I did not want to have my center console open and the cable all over the place all the time.
