How Much Does a New Tranny Cost?

My car is in the process of getting a new tranny and I was wondering how much it costs with labor to replace our tranny. Anybody know? Thanks .........

don't forget that it's covered under warranty. Some guy from my friends work just had his replaced, he had NO IDEA about all the tranny problems and the dealer charged him for the replacement!! he is now involved w/ acura to try to settle this but it's been a HUGE PITA for him!

OMG, that dealership should be reprimanded! How could they do that?!? Guarantee they'll never go back there again, unless s/he has no other option.

That guy is an idiot! If he had a 2nd gen CL(or any car), & was still in warranty, & his tranny went that's covered regardless if there was a tranny problem or not. Just like a water pump, or pully, or ac compressor. What did they base the replacement on? Did they say his headers, or CAI caused it? I'd say the $3K mark also. I had a few replaced in other cars, & most of the charge is labor.

Some dealers have been caught also charging the manufacturer for warranty work,,, must call Acura
and have this resolved,,, they most likely turned this into a $8k job,, If you complain they refund your money,, but they already claimed it with Acura,,, check the date when they filed with Acura, bet it was before you complained,,,,

My car looks like it is going have the new tranny and be ready for pickup no later than tomorrow. I asked the service manager about the cost and he said anywhere between $3000 - $3500.
