how much do you pay to have new front brake pads?

I need 2 new front brake pads and my rotors resurfaced.

Acura wants ~$320.00, is that a reasonable price. It has been so long since I paid for this type of job. This would be my first pair of pads on a 03 cls with 48000 miles.

I don't know but I'll sell you my whole front brake assembly for 300 bucks if you want. I have rotors pads, calipers and lines. All less than 5k miles on them.

thats nuts, you can buy good front brake pads for like $50 (Akebono), and have a local shop install them for $100 including resurfacing of rotors.

i know acura charges around 270 to get rotors resurfaced.... its much cheaper to just buy a new set of aftermarker rotors, which will be even better than your stockies..

-Rotora
-Powerslots

I have powerslots and them bitches grip... and I got those and some Axxis Ultimates for under $300

I just went to Acura dealer in VA for my oil change and service B.
I told them to check my brake just in case and I asked for the quote.

They quoted the brake pad replacement which include resurfacing the roters for $320 for front AND back.

I think $320 for only front is rediculai! They are ripping you off, be careful.

just get some brembo blanks with some green stuff as your pads. imo there is NO point of resurfacing those pos rotors and pads. O and do everything urself

Definately don't buy them from Acura. $300 is expensive.

word....the labor is so easy...it would take you 30 min to change the pads and get the rotors off the take them to your local brake shop to have them resurfaced.

+1 on doing it yourself. I changed all of my pads last weekend in 20 minutes, using one single jack.

The mechanic I took my car to said "most aftermarket breaks squeak...I recommend the stock ones for all my customers, even if they are a bit more expensive." That doesn't sound right to me...

mechanics typically recommend stock pads to avoid problems.... they know that stock ones fit good.
but Akebano is perfect replacement and very quiet...
