If you have teh right tools should not take longer than 2 hours.

Make very very sure you don't torque anything tight until all the bolts are installed! I torqued the downpipe to the cat before hooking it to the headers and it was a bitch to line them up and get the bolts in. Then about a week later I noticed that one exhaust pipe was lower than the other so I loosened the bolts from the cat to the headers and as soon as I got the last one loose the whole exhaust shifted and the pipes are now level.

Need some help here. Went to install my headers this morning and ran into some problems. Got all the bolts off but the 2 that connect to the cat were seized. Took about 20 mins of soaking in wd-40 and strength to get them off and the third got stripped. I'm gonna drill it out tomorrow morning. Does anyone have pics of installing headers and a how to??? Been searching and came up w/ nothing. thanks!

took me 45 minutes...but I'm a tech w/ air tools and a lift. In a driveway it should take an average installer 2-3 hours. The only real shortcut I can give u is spray all the bolts w/ a rust-busting fluid or penetrating oil and let it sit for 10 minutes or so before trying to break them loose.

You will be looking at no less than 2 hour. You should torque all the bolts and nuts down, especially all the nuts that attach the headers to the head.

for get a bo ut it!

just remove the enitre cat and b-pipe!

when you get it off the car that bolt will come off really easily. just tap in the next size down socket into the bolt and a few seconds the damn bolt will come off!!!!

finger start all bolts on the head then start all bolts on down pipe then start the bolts on the cat.. comptech site has install procedures,,, note most of the head bolts don't have the clearance for a torque wrench,,, I just tighted them with my "Highly calibrated wrist" none have come loose,,, also I reused the stock header gaskets,,, no problems after 20k miles,,, I forget they are on until I hit vtech land.. also it took me 9 hrs in my drive way but it was 95 outside and I took my time,,,

SIdemarker, I was contemplating taking off the cat and b pipe, I think it might be easier. So you guys don't think I should use the gaskets the headers came with? So far I've spent 2 hours working on the car yesterday, had to stop only because it got dark. Ant I will try a diff oil or flid and go down a socket size, hopefully this work. Thanks again. will update later

Headers are in but were a pain in the ass. With the right tools, this could easily be done in 2 hours. All you basically need is a ratchet, 12" extention, wd-40, muscle. After having spent so much time under the car, I could probably do it w/ my eyes closed. Ok, performance is great, you can def feel it. I'm getting some droning and loud exhaust noise because of that one bolt I had to break off on the Cat so only two bolts are tightened and some exhaust is leaking. Anyway, I'm doing brakes next week. Feels good to be able to do things on your own rather than pay someone.

Just take your time and double check your work. Took two of us about 3-4 hours.
