I'd try another dealer. Is there another Acura dealer in your area?

Are you ordering the Manual? Remember, there supposedly is a production limit of 2700 units this year. Did they say that they really have a car (ie: VIN) available or are they roping you?

I wouldn't be surprised if the 2700 manuals are already sold; I also wouldn't be surprised if Acura makes more than 2700.

I placed an order for the 6 speed in blue on March 14th. Still waiting for any definite dates from my dealer. The only sure thing is the car will be delivered with nav, an option I didn't order or want. I am not sure how it's too late to be built non-nav, but I can not be given a date for delivery is beyond me.

The bottom line.... I have been waiting 9 weeks, 5 days. I hope you make out better. Good luck

Sounds like they scammed you into spending 2000-dollars more then you wanted.
They should have been able to order for you without NAV if thats the way you wanted it.

They probably have that one on their allocation and are BS-ing you into taking it.

I think the NAV is great, but if you don’t want it, you shouldn’t have to spend the money.

Shawn - You're right, I should be able to ge the car w/o nav if that's what I want. And I can certainly refuse the car if and when it finally arrives.... if I want to wait till God knows when for a non-nav model.

In defense of the dealer he has knocked quite a bit off the msrp of the nav unit, if I will take the vehicle with the option. Of course I'll see how true that will be when I write a check for the balance.

Oh, well. I have been jazzed about this car since I first heard of it last December. When this deal is finally concluded I hope I feel the wait was worth it.

It probably has to do with the dealer. I ordered mine (suburban Philadelphia) on a Saturday in mid April and got the car on Tuesday. The dealer just had to transfer it from another dealership (in Maryland).

Back in march i ordered one, supposed to be delivered in June. About a month ago i found one at another dealership. And since honda financing was good at that point, i pick er up. I really wish i would have got the navi now. I wish there was something i could do about that.

I just received a call from the sales manager. My car has a manufacture date of 5-17-02. Delivery expected 6-8-02. I wont hold my breath, but I will continue to hope. So if this plays out like that, this little adventure in frustration will have been 3 months and 2 days.

wow...in this post alone, I count four NEW members w/ the Type-S SIX speed...and several more expecting.

These six speeds must be selling like crazy.

(Shawn S...notice I said NEW members, so you don't count)

omoulton...I would urge you to get the NAVI. I didn't get one in my CL-S, and everyday I regret that decision. I suggest you try it out WHEN the car comes in and decide if you like it or not. If anything you can turn it into an in-car DVD player.

Acura's been selling an average of 1,152 CLs a month this year... (Down from last year's 1,583/mo avg)

I have no choice on the navi. I ordered w/o, it's coming with. So, if I want the car, which I do, I will be paying the difference.

BTW I fat fingered the manf. date, it's 5-27-02.

niz181, ask if they have a vin#, production date, or shipment date. If they can't give you any info, god knows how long the wait will be. Your best bet is to ask them to locate one at another dealer and swap it asap if its been 3 weeks. Which dealer did you go to?

I ordered the Aegean Blue, 6-speed, mud flaps, gold emblems, gold inner grill, spoiler, nose mask, mats, and cover. Grand toal $32,900. The dealer has knocked several hundred dollars off the unwanted navigation option, but I will certainly try to get more off.

Hey Niz, what number at Acura did you call? I'd like to give it a call and verify what the dealer told me yesterday.
