How to install a radar detector direct wire on a CL?

How to install a radar detector direct wire on a CL?

I had just got myself a Passport 8500 but having a hard time to install the direct wire. Has anyone here installed this before? I really have no idea where I should go for when I opened the panel. There are just so many wires. Help please!

i want to know to, i did some reading it basically u put the positive wire in the wiper fuse and the negative wire in that screw on top of the fuses

I hardwired my V1 into the fuse box. You can run the wire right along the roof line, down the A-Pillar and intot he fuse box on the driver side. I wired it into the fuse for the 'rear wiper'. This will allow for the detector to power on when the ignition is turned on and will shut off when the car is off.

1) Strip the red wire on the hardwire kit such that about 1/2" of bare wire is showing.
2) open the driver's side fuse box so this is what you see

3) pull the bottom fuse on the left, the 30A fuse, which is the wiper fuse. use this fuse because it's only hot when the key is in the on position. I agreed.
4) fan the bare wire from the red wire stripped in 1) such that it is flat, and will fit easily in the fuse socket.
5) place the fanned wire into the socket, and replace the fuse. Should look something like this:

6) Attach the black wire to one of the screws near the right edge of the fuse area as seen below:

7) Remove the driver's side A-pillar trim piece - the one shown here:

8) And I think you can figure out the rest
