one thats doesnt have an airbag. is it that complicated and can it be done at home, or should i go to a shop?

It's very easy. Just open the center cover to find access to the center nut. I think most Japanese cars use 21 mm nut. You just hold the steering wheel with your thighs while you're loosening the nut with a cross bar or something else. Just loosen the nut enough but don't remove it all the way. Then just hit the wheel with your hands on 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock position to loosen the wheel. When it's loose, you can pull it out after you remove the nut. Or, you can also use a puller. I hope this helps.

 

i have a '91 integ and i can get an after market steering wheel for cheap. i figure y not if its not that complicated...
