How fast are the TT's?
theyre pretty quick actually, moms got an 01 tt and it moves. u just gotta get those rpm's up (of course) but after that, those things haul ass. and they're pretty stable on the freeway, i was out in it last night (warm night here) and the top was down we were goin probably 80 and u can carry on a conversation at literally a normal speaking voice. pretty sweet.

A girl I know has one with chip and exhaust and she says she has run a 13.8. I'm assuming that is with race fuel, but I"m not sure. I saw her run a 14.2 one night on pump gas though. The cool thing about the haldex sysem (AWD system in the TT) is that you get power to all wheels for a launch, but it's on FWD when there is no slippage of the front wheels. So I'm pretty sure it gets the advantage of more whp from a roll assuming there is no slippage.
The 225 TT does have a slightly larger turbo than the other 1.8T's. Still the stock turbo is by no means big. 15-17 psi (cbipped boost) before 2800 RPM. It also has 2 intercoolers (as opposed to 1 in the other 1.8T's), it has a slightly lower compression ratio 9.0:1. The other 1.8T's are 9.3:1 or 9.5:1. So the 225TT handles high boost a little better. The 225TT has a forged crank, other 1.8T's have a cast crank.

Pretty damn fast actually from a dead stop or 40 roll. The TT has the advantage with AWD. They put out 263/267 hp/tq with just a chip.

Is this to the wheels or at the crank. I've done research since this post and none of the sites say if it's to the wheels or at the crank. Since they are trying to seel the chips, I'm going to guess at the crank.

Not the manliest car.
The only reason I've brought up this thread is because I was having this conversation w/ a cardiac surgeon that was going on and on about his chipped TT and how fast it was. I mentioned to him that I could give him a run in my CL (straight line). He didn't really acknowledge the CL as even being in the same league. I just wanted to know if I was mislead.
BTW, they are quite gay...not that there's anything wrong with that.

Won't it take a S2k with that chip and exhaust? 13.8?
:P yah, they are expensive too. I think I'd rather have an S2000 for the $.
