How common is it for the following to happen?

I got a 2002 CL and with 57K miles on it, I have had to do the following repairs

45K: lower ball joints
56,738 miles replace rear brakes and repair a coolant leak at the crossover pipe......

for comparison..............

98 LX V6

89K new trans
97K new alt

94 LX
129K new rad cap
135K new exhaust
138K new outer CV joint driver side

lol this thing is starting to remind me of the american cars I owned.

so you've done 2 fairly minor repairs on a 5-6 year old car, and you're complaining ?

Yah id say for 60k thats sounds pretty good.... If my car only had two issues in near 60k id probably thank God. I cant tell you how many times ive replaced upper and lower ball joints on my "other" vehicles.

lol compared to some other cars that I have owned, these repairs seem kinda excessive.......lol

a car should not leak coolant with less than 60K on it

a car should not need lower ball joints with only 45K on it

i had a 1992 mercury sable that went to 102K and EIGHT YEARS before I had to do any work on that car......lol

the 1994 Honda didn't need any service until 2004 a whole 10 years after it rolled off the assembly line...and other than what was mentioned above, everything on the car is ORIGINAL (reqular maint items not included)

The other question would be,,,did you really need those ball joints, or did some some shop with less than reasonable morals sell them to you?

yes as the car was wandering slightly and once they were replaced, the problem was solved.

ball joints are fairly common issue. Ive seen plenty go with low miles. all depends on roads and weather and how its driven.

Coolant leaking isnt something normal, but sh*t happens
