That's one hell of a leftover vehicle. Wonder what kind of deal the buyer got.

Yeah, I saw that a couple of weeks ago...

What I thought was even more interesting was the fact that they sold 283 in 2004 even tho production stopped in June 2003...

I can believe it. Out of all the Acrua dealers in the US 1 of them to have a base CL laying around is possable.

283 in all of 2004 is also plausable.

Wow that many were sold in 2004 and in march of 2003 I had to get my 6spd shipped in from another state because there were none available even at that time

We had a CL here... Blue stick shift. If we weren't the LAST dealer to sell one then we were the next-to-last.

Seeing that you usually get knock 10% off most leftovers, it's wouldn't be unreasonable to think that they got a terriffic deal on it...

I can believe this. When I worked for Heuberger Motors - Subaru, we had a HUGE Suby inventory (the largest in CO), I remember in '00, we still had a few '98's left.

When I bought my car in Feb 2004, my dealer had 4 new CLs left in inventory. One was a stick, another CL-S and two regular CLs.

Imagine buying a car that has been sitting on the lot for 3 years!!!!! Boy, I wouldn't buy it... well, then come to think about it, the warranty is all the way to 2010, and the transmission is protected to 2013... hmmm... maybe I would've.

Whoever bought that car should keep it as a museum piece, hahahaha... you know, the last one ever sold.

We don't... We'll have to wait and see if there is any sales data for 2006...

Honda/Acura should know exactly what their sitting inventory is at the dealers, they would be the ones to contact to find out.
For example I bought a Kawasaki motorcycle this summer a brand new 2003 ZX9, my buddy wanted one also and contacted Kawasaki directly ... they found him a new 2002 at a dealer out of province.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. But keep in mind that these cars just sit there, they typically don't move.

I bought a new car from a Honda dealership that had been sitting for 2 years, I had to return to the dealer and have them change all 4 tires, they just had flat spots that would just would not run out.
I also noticed the front and rear calipers on the drivers side were slightly rusted from the rain blowing through the mags on that side of the car and the brakes never heating up.

But for the 5K rebate I had on the vehicule I found it to be worthwhile !

It's worse for a car to sit than it is for it to be driven. My TL had 9k miles accumulate in 2 full years, so it did a lot of sitting - and it caused a bunch of little issues.

While other manufacturors release data like that, H/A doesn't release "proprietary" data like that...

Mr. Slimey wrote Acura about the number of 6spd produced, and they sent a nice letter back basically saying "we don't do that"...

Hohlake did find a way to obtain the data tho

Why wouldn't Honda be willing to tell a potential customer where to locate a new 2003 Acura CL in 2006? Looks like they'd be willing to do that in hopes to finally get it out of their systems.

in canada, through the honda system we can find/track cars in other dealers in the whole country. makes it easier to answer a customer (about availability and delay) that wants a car we don't have in our lot. when i asked our sales manager to find my mom a red manual 04 TSX in november 2004, he came with an answer ½ hour after my request saying to me : i just bought the car from another province and it'll be heading our way soon. he said there were 2 red manuals left in the whole country (red was discontinued for canada after 2004).

i also saw through our internal infos and exams system, the online steps to have a vehicule transfered from another dealer to ours and from us to another one. so the honda system always knows which VIN is in which dealer's lot.

i've seen dealerships listing online the whole inventory of their lot with complete description and VINs !

Yeah, a dealer can locate any car in the network of dealers for a customer....

They did that with my CLS. Dealer I bought it at didn't have a SMR 6spd w/ tan, but there was one sitting on a lot 35 miles away.

But don't expect to get an answer from Honda Corporate...

I've been doing research on the Milano Red TSX's recently... There doesn't seem to be that many around, even in the USA...

And I beleive (correct me if I'm wrong), that in Canada, only the parchment interior was offered on the Milano red TSX's.... (we can get the red/ebony here in the US).

exactly !
only parchment was available in milano red TSX. (while US had parchment AND ebony available)
my mom wanted red/ebony so bad but it just wasn't available, and it was too late in the year to sell a client a parchment interior instead of ebony (since i'm working there, it would've been possible to sell a client a car that normally has ebony interior with a parchment interior : i would've done the complete interior swap), but it was too late (05 were already there for a month....though she paid $2500 under msrp and she loves her tsx)
sorry for the O-T

I'm surprised it could still net $27k at this point.
