Holy environmental/construction fallout!!! Wife's car got trashed...

If I find the bastards who are responsible, they're gotta get beaten.

My wife thought she'd do me a favor yesterday and actually wash her car, saving me some time this coming weekend. When I got home from work, she aked me if I has put anything on the windows, to which I replied "Rain-X". She asked if Rain'X created a sand-paper like feeling, to which I replied "No"...

As I went outside and walked into the garage, I could see already there was a problem. Little white dots covered the paint and windows. To the touch, it felt like someone had put sandpaper EVERYWHERE, and I mean everywhere... It was so course to the touch, youi'd think the car was trying to grow a beard or something. It was so bad, that I could take a paper towel and basically stick it to the side of the car and it wouldn't move. It almost seemed like VELCRO!!!

Wax wouldn't take the crap off, nor would cleaner wax. I had to clay to whole focking car, wash, and throw some wax back on there. 4 hours later I was done, albeit I know I didn't get all the shit off.

If I find out who it was, they're going to get paid a visit.

Sounds like maybe it was paint overspray from a construction site or something.
Any new buildings or road construction going on where the car is parked during the day ???

Yes, but it's hard to say when this happened. She had the day off yesterday and was driving around quite a bit, parking here, going there. If it happens today, when she's actually at work I'll know where to take my baseball bat.

that blowz...if it's any consolation, i got a golfball sized ding in my door and stripped paint in the course of the last week...looked like someone flung their door as hard as they could into mine that's how bad it is

good luck in getting this resolved...any chance u can get the parts of the car affected detailed??? u think compounding will work??

The clay bar took the shit off the car, but it was on every square inch of car that is exposed to the elements. I know I'll be going over it again this weekend to make sure it's all off.

you might want to try using 'goof off' to get any stubborn areas; that stuff gets off just about anything (including your wax). You can find it at hardware stores.

Can I make a recommendation

Of course clay bar will take it off, but this is soooo much easier. apply to a rag and wipe on.. after your all done removing it, wash your whip, brighten, and wax..I have been using this stuff for years and it is awesome.. I once had a guy come to me that had Yellow street line paint overspray all over his whip. and that shit is very industrial. This removes road tar so easily too, but it strips all traces of wax.. it WILL NOT HARM THE FINISH.
