hey guys got a question

I'm not really sure what section this should be under so I am going to write it in here. I'm trying to sell my pulleys, springs, and sways but I am not sure how to go about it. Do I need to go to say FedEx with all the parts and pay them the shipping costs or is there an easier way to do this? Sorry again mods, I just need some help.

Price all parts. Put an ad in the black market here with parts and prices for each. Members will offer you money. You decide if the deal is right. If you agree to purchase amount, You package it up an get a amount for shipping (ups, fedex, usps). You tell buyer to send you the money for the part plus shipping (paypal, money order, etc). You get money, you ship out part.

Or you could just put local pickup only in your ad and take cash when the buyer shows up.

well when I do decide to ship it out to someone, how do i go about finding out the price for shipping? Do i weigh the package and then put in a zipcode online? or do i have to go to a ups or fedex store?

you can estimate it using online tools but the only way to get the exact amount would be to go to FedEX or the UPS Store.

You can just list the prices as being without shipping, and once all the parts are off the car, you can get the price estimated at the UPS store once someone gives you a zip code. Then you can use this....

Cost Estimate

Get their zipcode and bring the package to the ups, fedex or post office to get the exact amount, or you could estimate it, and if it comes out to $8.20, charge $10 for shipping

I parted out a 78 vw bus years ago, and I shipped parts to Canada and all across the USA... Most of the time I got the estimate via online, and used that. Sometimes the estimate was too low, and I'd have to eat the some of the shipping cost, and other times it was high, so I made some money on shipping, so it kinda was a wash after all was said and done.

You can decide if you want to charge a flat shipping fee (based on estimates) or have the buyer pay for the exact shipping cost (which would require 2 trips to the shipping place, once to get the price, and another to actually ship the item.

If they pay via personal check (I've never accepted that form of payment) you'll probably want to wait till your bank clears the check first (5-10 days) before shipping anything...
