Check out your VIN number here and see what they mean: http://www.acura-cl.com/cgi-bin/ulti...c&f=1&t=007331
The only adjustment to your rate will only come about in the current period which is probably 6 months or one year. Otherwise, just like they wouldn't expect you to send them more money for past periods if it turns out they discovered your car was more expensive to insure.

I'd like to know too...
I had to look on my dash for the VIN info for the insurance...
However, the dealer did submit the VIN info for the Acura Care card (at least that's what I remember)...
it may have been a typo from the dealer when they sent in the registration, they also inform your insurance company when you purchase a vehicle and give them the vin, sounds like the mistake happened on the deal, compare the paperwork when you bought it to your insurance and registration card, in pa we need proof of insurance to perform a state inspection, i see some insurance cards that are typo's but the registration is usually ok, so thats why i think the salesman or the f&i dep't had a typo on the deal paperwork
sorry i've been away all day...when i called acura they started a piliminary search and said my car was supposed to be in miami.it wasnt a type o but rather. gave me a different car than the deal they wrote...and it wasnt like my insurance was given the wrong numbers by me, it was that they got them off the registration ,which was done by the dealer..i mean it's no big deal as far as the car cause i got what i wanted...to bad the mistake didnt include navi
but if say my car got stolen then turned up ...thats not your car...the numbers dont match...or say who ever is registered to my vehical here's the really funny part MCHtypes' car he reports it stolen..i get pulled over...hey you got mchtypes' car whats wrong with you?how'd you get it painted back silver again???how do you like that 3.5 upgrade???but officer...ya but but to jail you go fucker...obviously were talkin some unlikely senerios BUT.?

My registration VIN number was incorrect, as well... apparently the dealer wrote an I instead of a 1 as one of the digits, so my four-year-old car had been rolling with an incorrect VIN all that time... we figured it out after I bought the car (notice that two different dealers - the original seller and then the one who sold it to me - hadn't noticed this yet), but we ran the VIN check to make sure it wasn't a lemon, and the VIN came back as a car that didn't exist. We were
so we did a bunch of searching and stuff and figured it out after a while, but it was a hassle.

I had forgotten about this until I read this post.
My dealer actually forgot to send my registration to the DMV so I was driving with plates belonging to a 99 toyota (the car I traded in for the CL). I didn't have valid plates for almost 8 months after I bought the car. When they searched around, the dealer found my paperwork inside someone's desk.
{by the way, how I found out about this was I was taking 3 friends home from dinner (ages 31, 55, and 58) and a cop in Alexandria, VA pulled me over after a red light. When I asked why he pulled me over, he said that he had run my plates while we were sitting at the light and they were registered to a 99 Toyota. I had never been racially profiled before but all of us in the car that day--yes it was still light out--knew that the only reason he would have run the plates. I was pulled over was because he saw 4 heads in an fast-looking 'orange' sports car. The cop did look somewhat surprised when he looked in and saw 4, conservative 30-something and middle-aged people and he did let me go right away when I showed him the temporary registration from the dealer. Research led me back to the dealer, where they 'oops' had misplaced the paperwork!}

Type R- Didn't you take your car to the dealer for service in that time? It should have shown up then. We run the vin on every car that comes in for service to check for warranty, recalls, histories, and delivery dates. We have also picked up some vin errors doing that, too. Just an added service for our customers.
