Hey, QUICK please help me really fast! My window regulator just went out...(i think) I can hear the motor still working but the window WONT go up!!! Is it the regulator??

Has anyone had to get theirs fixed?? How much is it??

Ive got a 97, 3.0 CL....Drivers side window...

The local Acura shop is quoting me $300!!!! IS THIS RIGHT?!?!

That is about right for a dealer repair. A Honda dealer may be a bit cheaper - same regulator as in the '97 Accord. The dealer part is about $150. On Ebay about $75. I have replaced both in my son's '97 2.2.

thanks for the rast responce....over in the first gen fourm, no one would reply to me...so yea...i NEED to get this fixed ASAP because ive got a nice stereo system that i dont wanna get jacked...so yea...

mine broke int he middle of a rainstorm so I had to have a shop fix it, cost me 170$ I believe. But ghe guy hooked me up

I just had the driver's side window regulator replaced at the dealer which was coverage under warranty - 15k service. I had reported that the driver's window sometimes made a squeaking sound while driving on uneven road surfaces. The dealer told me that the window wasn't closing 100% of the way. After the dealer replaced the window regulator, the window squeak is no more.

part lists for $139.42 your getting ripped my book shows .5hrs to take off the trim panel and .5 to change the regulator even at $90 an hour they are about $70 high

sounds like you just need to refill your window regulator fluid resevoir back up... have you tried that yet?

well i called around...Jay Wolfe Acura wanted $360 + tax...the other majoy Acura dealer "Superior Acura" wanted $260 + tax....(and they could do it today) So i took it to Superior Acura..

15 min after i dropped it off, they said they had gotten the door panel off and said they saw the regulator and it WAS the Regulator that broke...the said like $130 for the new Regulator and $180 for labor...+tax sooo TOTAL = $345 +/- a few bucks...

Did i get ripped off..?....yes probably, but it was the cheapest place i found AND they could do it today...


EDIT: CLPower.....They did say the Cable broke....

Does anyone have a picture of a window regulator...i dont even know what they do or what they look like or anythin!..lol

they're trying to rip you man... it's probably just your window regulator fluid resevoir that's empty.... just go to the store and ask for some window regulator fluid and fill it up....

i know it broke...i heard the cable snap...suck though...someone said a 97 Honda Accord regulator would work...here one on ebay for $65.....Acura charged me $130

this is the part number for the regulator and it is the same as a 2dr accord but not 4dr

yeah they're pretty common on first gen cl's. We charge 2.0 hours of labor if i remember correctly. $300 ain't a bad price but unfortuanatly it's something u have to replace. Good luck
