Help me spend money
O.K.fellow cl-s owners,i need your input.I got a credit card with a $2000 dollar limit and my wife says go for it!I'm gonna set up an appointment at my dealer and blow it in one shot. Here's where i need your vote.Option 1:Headers and sways,my thinking is to enhance both H.P.and handling.
Option 2:Springs and sways only,my thinking is the car already has great power maybe i should focus on the handling.
Please tell me what you think,i'll take input from all, especially those of you who have done the mods and can give me objective opinions.
I really trust the knowledge and passion of this board's members,so please vote and help me spend this money right.Hopefully i'll be able to help other members down the road!

I recommend, that you have first the money cash on hand, I hate to pay 20%-25% interest.
If it's 0% interest and you have the cash to pay it, then go for it spend those $2k on your CLS using the CCard.
I figure, I can do all those comptechs for a bit more that $2K, $2,750 (parts, labor+alignment, tax) using Park Avenur Acura Price list.
1) Comptech Sways (x2, front rear)
2) Comptech Springs (x4, 4 wheels)
3) Comptech Headers (x1)
4) Koni yellow Shocks (x4, 4 wheels)
Konis are some $500, so if you keep stock shcoks, you would be near $2250. I hope that helps.

I would have to recommend waiting until you save up enough cash to buy them outright (the headers I mean) The interest payments just don't make it worth the money.
But definetly go for the headers first I am.
Just my 2 cents.

Go for the handeling first. The power is great but I would recommend that the machine handles great before putting more power to it.

Red Rider...I couldn't hold off any longer. I called Niello Acura yesterday and put my order in for the Comptech headers, Comptech sways, and AEM CAI. Eric in parts said all the stuff oughta' be in by Wed 3/28.

We'll have to hook up again once we get our modz installed.

Geez, peeps! He asked for your recommendations on what performance mods to spend $2,000 on, not a $.02 lecture on why the mods should not be bought on credit.

Eric, your points were valid and well-reasoned the first time through. No dispute.
I just thought it was a wee bit presumptious for anyone to assume that he isn't already fully versed in the voodoo economics of credit cards.

Oh yes all of this will come from the "surplus", which of course was built up over the last 8 years. (The hypocrisy coming from the Dems is now they are saying that there is NO such surplus

First I would listen to Ken's advice but what I'd do would be to get the car shod in brand new BBS RX rims (or some of your own choice) with accompanying rubber. Like the photo below. Have fun shopping.

Don't spend the money on the headers--they're nice, but the car already has good power and the handling really needs improvement. You will notice a much bigger difference overall in handling than in power gained from the headers.
My advice if I had it to do all over again:
Springs 300
Sways 300
Koni shocks 500
New tires 520 (for Potenza RE730's from tirerack)
Grand total for a car that you will not even recognize as being the same car:
1620
Lest we all not forget about LABOR: Leaves you 380 to put toward labor. If you don't get the stuff done at the dealer you could probably get away with all of this for an even 2000.
Take my word for it on this one: do the suspension, forget about the headers for now--they don't make all that much of a difference while redoing the suspension will be something you can enjoy each and every second you are in the car!
