Help - CLS vs Accord Coupe
I've got an interested buyer in my CLS 6speed, but they are also looking at new Accord Coupe 6 speeds. Anyone know any differences in specs, availability, pricing, or anything as a selling point. I think they want new over used, but the son seemed to really like my CLS 6 speed, he hadn't driven the Accord yet.
All I can see in specs is the engine, hp, xenon headlights, maybe the seatback heater on the CLS. The Accord specs read just like the CLS and actually it offers a lot of newer features the CLS didn't have.
thanks.

Thanks !!! Well my price is lower and the Accord is a little uglier, I like the CLS interior better too, CLS has more quality feel. I'm hoping 6 speed Accord coupes are hard to get? high priced? I know that was the case when they first came out, do all the dealers have them now??
Exclusivity.
Every Tom, Dick and Harry drives an Accord. There aren't that many 6spd CLS's out there (a little over 2700 or so).
You can't really compare the CLS (based on the 6th gen accord) to the 7th gen Accord EX 6spd. I don't know if you can compare used vs. new on the www.edmunds.com site (or other car sites), but you might want to give it a try.
I hate to say it, but If I had a choice between a used CLS 6spd vs. a new 2004 Accord EX 6spd, I *might* buy the Accord (depending on what the $$ difference is).

THe Honda reads just like the Acuras, except offers as an option- side head airbags, XM radio. key button controls w/window controls, auto up down both windows, dual AC, I could go on...
The top line Hondas have more features than any Acura except maybe the new TL.

I think performance wise, they're about the same stock, but the CL has more mods for it right now. The Accord has the nicer interior, but with the Acura you get the name and the service.
This is actually the same comparison I'm going through now, right now I'm leaning towards the Acura because of the price.

I didn't think the Accord interior was better than the CL, and the Accord syling is a little loopy IMO. Honda is shooting down Acura sales when the Accord has everything and more though.
I'm getting another CLS but the Accord Coupe is pretty loaded, I'd love to have XM radio, mp3 player, key buttons, upgraded Navi screens.
Acura better catch up fast with a new coupe.

dual climate control, auto up glass...
it's a tough choice...
I prefer the cl styling over the accord. I don't like the front, and it shares the front of the 4 door, which is just ugly in my opinion. The accord is also missing the limited slip differential that the cl has. Both are nice thou.

you won't regret the cl
I hate that new honda commercial where the guy has a lead foot cuz he just bought a new car and it turns out to be a new Accord. I'm seeing more and more of the 04's and they look really nice hooked up. Even if its just rims and tint. Only thing good about the CL is that its discontinued
The Bose stereo may not be great but it's better than the Accord's. The CL-S has a limited slip differential, 20 more hp & better torque at all speeds. I think the CL-S may have a slightly better grade of leather too.
I like both cars. I looked at both before buying my CLS-6. The big difference for me was, I felt luck to find such a great car ... even as a used car. Once you drive the CLS, you fall in love with it. It has all the power you would want and all the luxury you can stand. I actually was shopping for the RSX or the TSX. I stumbled across my CLS on my dealers used car lot. It was a certified car so it had an additional 12 months/12000 mile warranty (making it 5year/62000 miles) on the bumper to bumper plus 7 years/100,000 miles on the power train. It only had 17K on it so it's basically just out of the break-in period.
The proof is in the test drive. I test drove a lot of cars ... Mustang (both V6 and V8), Accord, RSX, TSX, Celica, Mini, etc. Not of them compare to the feel of the CLS. The RSX is close but was just a little too small for me. Just have them test drive both cars ... that should close the deal.

I don't know what your price is but if he can negotiate the dealer you might have a problem. I don't know this guy but if I were in his position, I wouldn't pay more than $23,800 for a 6spd Accord with no Navi. Some guys have paid stupid prices so you might have an advantage. You better hope he's not dealer savy.
