Its most likely the seat heater element in the back portion of the seat. Last year about this same tiime my bottom portion went out on the 2000 TL drivers seat. The back was heating up just fine it was replaced under warranty. Everything seems to be working okay this year.

Did they have to take appart your driver's seat. I wonder how they can get to seat heater without completly disassembling the seat..

I think they did have to do that the car was in the shop 2 days. They had to order the heater element part I had a loaner 2002 Chevy Malibu. It was an okay car but not like my TL.

wow, they gave you loaner for such a minor problem? Usually they give loaners when something serious happens. Was that the only problem you had??

If I am not mistaken I was getting the 15,000 mile service done at that time. Also the warped fron rotor problem with the brakes had happen again after a few thousand miles since the last oil change when they resufaced them. They replaced with new pads & new rotors under warranty during this service also. I have very low miles on my car that is almost 3years old now. The car just hit 28,000 a few days ago but the mileage I have is mostly highway. I just got my oil changed a few weeks ago. They said I have about 10% on the rear brake pads. I will get that done at next oil change. In general I wait at the dealer for my car to be service. I have already had the 30,000 mile service done. I had it done at 22,500 miles back in May. The way I drive I go by months for service intervals not miles.
