Exclamation HEADERS AND Light weight crank pulley for CLP

Does anyone know roughly how much hp a clp will have with new headers and a light weight crank pulley?

let's try to be helpful

there so many things that can vary on the power output... on the CLS it adds around 20whp you should get around 15-20whp with crank pulley on your clp but you wont find out unless you do dyno before and after the install... and dyno should be done same day also

every car is different, every dyno is, and every day is different (air density) there's no precise answer.

all that matters is the car becomes alive and u will laugh at urself for having doubts

only downside is if you get the underdrive crank pulley. You're not supposed to run an audio system of a certain size because your accessories are already being underdriven.

Get the headers and the crank pulley. You'll be happy.

On a CL-P you will likely pick up about 20-25 hp/tq with the headers and lightweight crank pulley. I'd recommend the DC Headers and the XLR8/UR Stock Diameter lightweight crank pulley. We have both in stock.

DC Headers:

XLR8/UR Crank Pulley (this will not underdrive your accessories):

The ebay pulley may fit but it isn't machined to the same specs that the UR pulley is. And the ebay pulley is an underdrive pulley; if a customer wants a stock diameter pulley that doesn't underdrive the accessories then the XLR8/UR pulley is the better choice.

No problems with the Option Racing underdrive pulley here either, over 70k miles on it too.

unless your running a big stereo system or supercharger option racing pulley is fine. cant beat the $25 price.

The underdrive pulley is good for around 600 watts. You could always run a capacitor if you have something a bit bigger (~1k watts) and still get away with the underdrive pulley.

i must confess however the car is underdriven slightly too much because if u put the seat heater and rear defrost on. and lights and wait at a light.. u can tell the interior fan slows down a bit... especailly if u got the a/c on as well.

but it never gets below 12v thank god.. but i just would like you all to know before making the purchase.

i have a volt meter hooked up in my gauge pod so this is a fact.

also the hotter the car gets the less it holds the charge... probably cause of the battery heating up or something i really dunno. even when i bought it new the same thing happened shortly after ... likely cause it neverr is charged fully so it just rides off the alternator basically.. but no starting isses or anything.

i bet it kills the battery tho a lot faster. but when i put the thing on the difference it made was all worth it...

I do notice that the fan speed drops when idling, but it doesnt bother me. Im on the highway 80% of the time, so I dont idle much anyway.

it'd be a close match-up that's for sure. there's no telling really. it'd be a coin flip if the cl-s was stock

what's with the obsession over being faster then a CL-S? Just get nitrous then.

yea really if u wanna be faster then get the cl-s cause he can just get ur mods and be faster no matter what.

but if u love that car and wanna just b faster than he is. get headers 500 aprx, cold air intake 250, and get on the ban wagon for the ATLP catback 999, plus the option pulley 30.

then it's no chance. but that's a lot of scratch.. considering u still may kill the trans

I think u may wanna upgrade the cat cause i believe even the CL-S has a different one (i thought). may be wrong tho.

speaking of exhaust I am ordering the CT-engineering mufflers in just over a week!!! OMFG i am excited. i]'ve been looking at reviews for a while now and i can just picture it.

on another not:

my buddy just got the scion tc 2 days ago... i made sure they threw on the trd exhuast and intake filter on, and the car sounds amazing.. honestly. I am jealous now i don't have a disgusting sounding car.. lol

it's the only mod left to do to her as well. then i should hopefully have 235whp (vs 229 before) i'm gonna get it re-dynoed to see for myself and let others know the actual gains (if any) from these mufflers. I will see if i can dyno it, then get them to install the mufflers and re-dyno. if not i will have to compare from the dyno done previously a year or so ago.

we had a three way race yesterday (first real race in 2 years!). me, scion tc 6 speed, and 05 cobalt ss/sc (intake and pipe w/highflow cat 3 inch down) 5 speed.

tc was good off the line but after he hit second gear it started to fall back.. and then it was just me and the cobalt literally neck and neck with no deviation! lol i forgot to turn traction control off!!! omfg i was brutal off the line. i woulda dumbied the cobalt otherwise.

i dunno whether to be impressed or not. it dynoed 202whp before the downpipe and cat install with just the intake. so it's got at least 210 i'd say conservatively.
