Does Comptech even care? They make great, high quality products and I give them credit for having the headers out early, but I think a price reduction is in order!

good question man, i mean comptech is losing potential customers FAAAAST, i mean, damn, its really obvious that comptechs headers are neater and higher quality, as well as semi-supported by honda/acura....but christ, thats not going to help them anymore...not when the price point is SOOOOOO different. i mean think, how many guys from this site ALONE bought the OBX....so far id say at least 15 of us ordered them, not to mention how many more WILL order the OBX within the next 3-6 months....that number will put it over 30-40 id guess. now thats 40 sales that comptech just lost and will never get back.....doesnt make sense to me....wouldnt comptech rather HAVE the sales for like $500 bucks instead of $1000??? i mean you tell ME...whats better:

$20,000 (theoretic income from selling 40 sets of headers at $500)

or $0.00 (amount they will make by not doing anything to remain competitive.)

it just doesnt make sense why they arent worried about all these lost sales, i mean once everyone buys the OBX headers, thats it, theres no more market for Comptech to try to aim at with these headers, because ALL of the modders/enthusiasts will have already gotten their headers from OBX and the remaining owners of the CL/TL/accord will be the ones that would never mod it anyhow.

the only reason most of us buy comptech is because we dont have any other choice. i know if i had a choice between HKS, Greddy, AEM, Apex, DC, Skunk, etc, for every aftermarket tuning part i for sure wouldnt even consider buyin no comptech shit.

Speaking of headers, I'm quite interested in purchasing a set for my car...A question tho: Let's say that our car (the 2001 Auto) goes from 0-60 in 6.7s, how much time would headers shave off of that? Thanks!

jimcol - just to support your point - I had no intention of ever buying headers for my car, even the OBX when they were $499. I just didn't care. But when they were $340 shipped, I mean come on, that's an amazing price. I couldn't resist. OBX is getting customers like me who never even considered headers before.

Um? Compare quality of Hyundai to Honda. One is much cheaper. Thats a good reason to buy the cheaper car right?! Apply that reasoning to purchasing headers and I hope you don't regret that 350. cost in about 1 year when it falls apart. Cheaper headers in the industry do just that. They crack, rust, exhaust leaks etc. Do I think Comptech charges to much, yes I do but no one fault the quality of product. They have a topnotch R&D facility outside of Sacramento that is absolutely incredible. I'm talking Indy engines being built etc!!! I do hope that competition will bring Comptech a little more in line but please do expect to get what you payed for!

Sure the welds might crack, but how can stainless steel rust?

Not to mention I could buy two or three sets of these for the price of one set of Comptech.
