Header Update

I finally got the official word from Comptech on the re-design of the headers about what I can do with the old ones. They will replace my rear bank for $400... But the good news is that Vaseline does come with the shafting...

Now I need to decide what to do with my current headers. I'm going by a shop tomorrow to see what it would take to modify the existing one (I just need to track down those pics now.)

Other than that I might be looking at selling them, I was thinking about $750 shipped. They have about 12k miles on them but being stainless they are in great shape.

Looks like your best bet is selling them and ordering new from Dean.
If you get 750, your SWAP cost would be 250, but I’m sure you’ve already done the math on that.

250 doesn’t buy much time in the machine shop and at least you’re guaranteed the new ones will fit.

yeah

What you need is measurements not pics... I am sure they can unweld the one pipe and bend you a new one... 400 is steep. did you tell them to kiss your ass? Unbelievable, what a bunch of cut throat bastards...

I ordered springs from them and I am getting them now 4 weeks later, for the price I paid, don't you think that they would have the shit ready to ship when you order it?... and they did not even try to make amends with me since they were late... They don't care... Comp Tech has seen the last of my business..

...as there is nothing left to buy from Comptech for your car.

$400 for the rear manifold is priced too high, especially for someone who has already made the investment of at least $1000 in their company.

Nope. I wouldn't have bothered posting that message if I was already buying them from him.

Scalbert, I might be interested in your headers if you decide to take them off. I live in Alpharetta, GA so I could pick them up.

How much would you charge to install them on my 02 TL-S?

They are off right now and in a box in my garage. I traded the '01 CL-S in last Saturday and drove home a '03 6-Speed.

I'm going to determine if I can modify them to fit and how much that would cost; I will let you know something tomorrow. But I did have an offer already on them so we'll have to see how that works out.

But about installing them, the headers might be the only thing I might charge for so I'd have to think about it. Hrmmm, maybe $900 installed??

What are most people being charged for the installation??

Thanks Mike, anyone else??

That is certainly less than what the dealer around here (Nalley Acura) quoted me which lead me to decide to install/de-install them myself. Plus, I know it was done right.

So, $900 installed would not be out of line...
