header sound/power

hey im looking to get headers with my OEM catback exhaust cause i have heard that the OEM catback flows pretty well...whats it going to sound like? will it compromise the quietness of my car stock? i currently only have an AEM CAI and i like that its quiet all the time except under WOT. what should i expect? i have heard that there are resonance (sp?) problems under normal driving conditions even with stock catback, and also from JaredGMS he noticed no diff except under WOT with his Megan headers. any others care to share info on their experience? also should i expect decent gains without a aftermarket catback?

thanks

Ross

I have Comptech headers and Icebox w/ the stock exhaust on my 01 CL-S and it pretty much sounds like stock but slightly deeper.

I had an AEM w/CT headers and stock exhaust. You don't notice anything except for the sound of the intake.

Sorry to hijack your thread but since we're on the subject of exhausts...is the Accords exhaust better than ours since they have 2 pipes and ours 1 and splits out to 2 mufflers? Sorry, don't kno much about exhausts.

Pipes are pipes. All the headers are the same diameter and copied off of CT. They should all yield the same gains.

Get CT HEADERS you will be impressed. I should have took you for a ride in it at the meet. You certainly feel a difference

headers alone will not make a significant change in the sound. It makes it a tad bit deeper, but it sounds nice. Intake/exhaust are definitely more noticeable in the noise department. Get them, you'll never regret it!
