Park Ave Acura out East lets them go for $999, plus ~$200 for an expert install from Jens ... I could be off with my prices, ask around for Wayne or Jens...

I am also contemplating on buying the headers for my CL-S. I've seen the dynos and read the testimonials from the guys who have them, but the people on my local chatboard cannot believe that these headers allow the car to regain about 30 hp. Regardless, I would like solid, irrefutable evidence that is indeed the case. Can anybody help me out here?

I don't know what other board your going to but. Tell them to look at the dynos. you really think people would just by 1000 pipes for looks or something.

Well I raced another stock type S and Got a solid 1 1/2 car length by 80. if I went more I would of gained more. We even tried w/ switching drivers same results. Trust me the headers do give 32 hp to the wheels. www.comptechusa.com even has dyno's and you can find alot of dynos on this fourm if u search.

but coming from a headers owner they do make alot of diff.

Oh, it's just a local import chat board I frequent...not specific to acura CLs. I don't need proof for myself, I believe all you guys on here about the headers. I just want those guys on my local board to shut the hell up since they're basically accusing me of BS and saying I'm an idiot if I believe headers alone will give me 30 hp without extensive mods.

I've already researched the headers in-depth. I've thrown the dynos at them. Some believe me(some take it with a grain of salt) but there are still some who are totally skeptical about it

Hey Mike, impressive dyno there, you got 30 hp gain. How is it that Comptech got 208 hp on the stock CLS at 6000-6200rpm? I have not seen any stock dynoe'd at 208hp before, I notice that your stock CLS dynoed at 198hp.

To all owners with headers...does the CL-S still "die" after 100 mph, even with the headers installed?

The headers help very little when the car shifts into 4th ~110ish.
Btw, I don't feel that the car just goes belly up at 110. It doesn't pull as hard but it's still pulling.

Hey Mike,
Have you tested the the pull since you lowered the car? IMO, the drag and overall soft ride of the car hinder it at speed, I mean EVERY CAR dies around that speed unless they're designed for it like most sportscars. Remember it doesn't take that much hp for an 15 sec. car to hit 14 secs., but you need a shit load more power to go from 14s to 13s. It'a all about aerodynamics....not that I know too much about it...
