Have you ben in in 100+ Zone?

What if you wanted to test how good your CLS will do above 100MPH and a cop just noticed that you are flying by, what are you gona do?

What are consequences of getting caught doing 120 MPH in 55 zone?

Brrr..... what a nightmare!

20 above the speed limit is considered reckless driving. Not only is there a ticket+traffic school but points on the license also (don't know how many)

In NJ,

it's really simple:

If you don't know the cop and can't talk good game, it's reckless driving, speeding in the highest category, and a tow truck and possible jail.

If you know the cop and talk a good game it's the first two or if he likes you he reduces the ticket.

If you really know the cop and know the right people it could be nothing.

Oh yeah, you could lose your license for up to 6 months I think. AND mandatory appearance to your the A-hole in court with a speeding problem and everyone laughing at you.

did that once. right after break in period...after about 1000 miles.....went out RT66 west and went up to 115mph. comin back home, i did 120. right when i hit town and slowed down to about 60, a cop pulls me over for "excessive lane changing". i showed him how many total miles i had then and told him it was a new car and was just testing it's handling capabilites.....he let me go! in nova's words...OMG...my heart was pounding!

I got clocked at 108 in a 65 zone and I got a ticket for speeding obviously and another for not using caution. The cop said she could've taken me in for wreckless driving, but just gave me the two tickets. The Ticket Clinic told me that the ticket may get raised to wreckless driving in court, but I don't know if this is possible, I hope not. Well the trial date has yet to be set and I got this ticket in January, I hope I'm not driving around with a suspended license. Does anyone know if there's a statute of limitations for tickets in Broward County, Florida? I heard something about 6 months, I'd love to have the tickets thrown out for something ridiculous like this.

oh in va every mile over 100 is jail time. 120 = 20 days in jail.

Yes, a visual observation (without a radar clocking) of excessive speed is enough to get arrested by the police. It is clearly written in the status for every state.

I've done 127 in the Alero.
120 in the Jeep.
144 in the Jag.
Have only had my Cl for 4 days but have hit 120.
In New York it is jail over 100 but there are certain circumstances depending on cop. My friend got pulled over for 107 and he went to school and ended up with 6 points. My boss spent 30 days in Jail about 7 years ago for 150 in his Carrera. So it all depends on circumstances. But I think if you have a Porsche you should be allowed different things you have to test that shit out. I wonder what it is out in AZ cause if your doing 80 in the Left lane your getting past so I wonder where the serious fines come in maybe 120???

In Colorado and many states out west, the speed limit on open highways is 75, so with traffic usually doing 85-90, it's pretty easy to slip above 100 without even intending to. Not sure what they do when they catch you there though.
Nothing like it...open highways for high speeds intersperced with mountain roads for some real driving. No traffic...ahh, I need to go back!

Use to be the open highway in Montana was "reasonable speed" which means you could go well over 100mph and if you got pulled over by the highway patrol, it was something like a $25 administrative ticket (excessive air pollution).

i have been in teh 100+ zone, i have been to 120 a few times and 130 twice, and man it is crazy up there. I coldnt even imagine gettin a tic at that speed, but i cause someone else to get a tic at that speed cause he didnt slow down and i did, and he got pullled over. i was smart enought to stop listen casue i had a radar detector and it was goin wild.
my worst tix was doin 80 in a 55 in conn and it was 250 buvks, that sucked.

I'm a Canadian citizen. If I get pulled over for this situation, would I get thrown in jail? I shudder at the thought of becoming somebody's "drop the soap" man-whore just for speeding in the U.S.

I doubt you would go to prison. Jail perhaps but I thinks it a little different there. Speeding is the least of your worries if you come to the US. Just bring a good radar detector (or pickup one at the border), bring some bail money, some phone numbers of your very best friends and relatives, don't come alone if you can help it, and the further south you go, the more wary you need to be. Easy, eh?

Me and a friend was on way to a car show in penn. He was driving my civic with a ITR engine, and decided to race a mustang on the interstate. We were hanging with him pretty good until my friend shifted to 5th. Just as he hit Vtec in 5th I told him to drop it to fourth and pass the guy. And at that instant we get hit by instant on radar from a cop behind a tree. So my friend freaked out and slowed down, while the mustang stepped on it. The cop flew by us and pointed for us to pull over, and caught up to the mustang and pulled him over. So we just drove down the road and pulled up behind the cop. (there were no exits to take ) Long story short the cop let the mustang go because he was a fellow cop. The cop came walking back to us and chewed my friend a new ass. I had my security uniform hanging up in the back window but he was determined to give somebody a ticket. So my friend got a ticket for 114mph, and at least he didn't get a ticket for racing. And what really sucked was that our exit was only another mile up the road and the cop and mustang owner were there talking at the toll booth.

i had the car for like 5 weeks. my friend and i were driving back from dinner. he drives an accord (v-6) anyways, we decided to punch it because there weren't any cars around. i hit 122 then i eased up because i saw him behind me. there was a cop following us and he pulled me over. he told me he paced me at 89 (in a 55) so i semi-lucky. i didn't bother to tell them that his pace was incorrect and that i was going "only" 118 when he pulled me over.

Did he offer one of those "special" breathalyzers to get out of a ticket...

100+ zone? puhleeeze... I hit 139 in the Cl with two others in the car - they insisted they wanted it, one of them was 240 or so. I tried oh so hard to hit 140 but my roommates big ass frame wouldn't allow it. Conversely, my motorcycly has gone up to 150 just recently. It's previous high was 145 but apparently the after market exhaust has finally tuned in, along with the K&N and Double Bubble windscreen. I might have been able to push to 154 or so, but it would have been tough. I hit both highs in the middle of the night on California Bay Area bridges. I always make sure there is little traffic around, and have no hesitation in gunning it or slowing it. There are 2 ways to life live. Balls In, Balls Out. I prefer feeling them slap around a bit... :-)
