Hey, I'm lookin' to buy new rear speakers also. Now, I don't know shit about speakers, so I'm probably saying this all wrong. But I read in a thread somewhere about how if you buy replacement speakers for the rear, they won't sound as good as the stockers b/c our stock amp puts out 4 ohms, whereas aftermarket speakers are usually 1 ohm speakers. Therefore if you want to get aftermarket speakers, you would need to buy an aftermarket amp also to go with your aftermarket speakers.

Now realizing that probably didn't make any sense, and not knowing what the hell I'm talking about, does anyone know what I'm getting at? I guess my question is, will I need a new amp to go along with new speakers for the rear? I'm in dire need of replacement, I already busted the rear right one.

Thanks,

Hard to go wrong with MB Quarts, but they can be bright to some people, personally I prefer a/d/s for fronts as they sound the most natural for me. If I were to modify my stereo, those would be my first purchase...

I think you have that backwards.. the Bose speakers are 1ohm, while most aftermarket are around 4ohms.

I'm currently selling my Boston Rally Series 6.5" speakers.. pm me if you're interested (I also have a 4-channel MTX for sale too... )

Diamonds would be my choice. A/D/S also has a nice sound and
both have much better mid-bass than Boston or MBQ. MBQ is so
bright it's unreal sounding. But, ofcourse it's all a matter of opinion.

Bostons. I think the Pro series might be a bit much for some people's systems unless you have a ton of clean power going to them (and quite a bit of $!). I've been using the Boston Rally 6.5" components, and they can take quite a bit of power (200-250 a side I believe), they sound awesome, and they put out a good deal of bass. All for a pretty good price too.

a/d/s are good speakers. My amp and subs are a/d/s. I liked the Dyns a little better then the a/d/s comps though. SQ is subjective though.

I've always used MB Quarts.......they don't need a lot of power, and they sound amazing.

I have MB Quart RSC216 components in front, and MB Quart coaxils in the rear. Bought them about 3 weeks ago, still breaking them in, but let me tell you I love the way they sound.
I also recommend changing out the amp, b/c the stock amp is 2 week, I went with Phoenix Gold Tantrum 600/4...

I'll put the Diamond Hex's up against any components in their price range. If you want 6x9's, the Eclipse point source are kick ass.

Your ears are the best instrument for determining the best speakers for your car.

A $1,000 pair of speakers my sound like shia to you, while a cheaper $300 pair is the best speaker you have ever heard.

Listen to your ears when deciding on the best speakers for YOUR car.

I love my CDT Audio HD63DTS. The midbass from these things is freaking amazing. My amp puts out 60 watts per channel and these things pump out some serious midbass for a 6.5" coax.

I used to use boston pros to compete like 10 years ago...
Unfortunately, they're just not as competitive as they used to be.
Boston Pro subs are awesome for tight spaces and sound quality
though. 0.5ft3 for the 10.5 pro is awesome and accurate.
