I did. It's fairly troublesome and expensive just to switch to the M5 spoiler.

1. take off stock spoiler
2. fill in bolt holes...requires welding if you want it done properly...don't just fill in the hole with bondo or something half-ass
3. repaint trunk lid
4. match and paint spoiler
5. place spoiler on trunk lid

I don't know how much it will cost because I pretty much repainted my entire car during the same time.

My guess is that paint and install would be around 2 or 3 bills...best to get an estimate from a local body shop.

Don't be like that. The oem spoiler looks great. It's all a matter of personal preference. At some angles, the oem looks really good...at other angles it looks bad...same with the M5 spoiler.

evilstorm.... check your neighboring junk yard for another trunk ... I installed an M5 lip, and it looks awesome from ANY angle... i.e. like it was an original design. IMHO the stock one esthetically doesn't belong there.... - my opinion but of course.

Silmilar type 'lips' are becoming popular... i.e. new Audi S6 just sported one...

Most people tell me they like my '03 CLS 6sp with the OEM spoiler and said it looked like something was missing without it. I personally like the OEM spoiler more than the M5 spoiler. But, I would guess most would agree; it all comes down to personal taste.
