hey guys.....after i installed my obx headers my car seems to be shfting alot harder. now i get a loud ass chirp into second, my friend told me thats not normal on an atuo tran. is my tranny goin bad??

by the way i have a cl-p

 

I can chirp into second if I try hard enough and the road conditions are right (a little sand or a little wet). Generally I don't though. Where you are driving a 2001 I guess it is a possibility that the tranny is going but I haven't heard chirping into 2nd mentioned as a indicator of losing the tranny.

How do you like the resonance on those OBX headers? It drives me crazy.

 

resonace isnt too bad...i kinda got used to it

now i think it sounds kinda cool sounds like my friends m3 lol

 

dude my 2002 type s chirps 1/2 whenever i get on it. Did on my first trans and my new one.

 

Sh!t, my friggon '01 TLP chirp'd 2nd if I'd punch it..

But nothing beats the 3rd gear chirp on the 6MT!!!

Chriping at least means its shifting quickly and firmly. Its slipping that is bad. I think its fine. I wish mine shifted firmer and quicker.
