handed a neon srt his ass/or hit by lightning
nice day today in the mid 80ies
crusing looking for a sucker to race with
sitting at a light (we had a long light )
a srt comes up beside me I noticed he was from California (SRT are not out in Canada yet.
driver was in his mid 30's with a mid 20's passenger
pasenger says to me so you think your truck is fast
i said did you read my license plate holder He's says no
i said in a few minutes you'll able to tell all your buddies what it says.
they start laughing
he say's do you know what your fucking with
i said yep lets do her
light change and i was off (good thing for those traction bars)
when i hit second i was already 5 cars ahead i hoped they could hear the ol tires chirp, when i came to the next light i couldn't resist and said did you read my plate holder
he gave me the finger and kept on looking straight
plate holder reads member of the lightning 12 second club

12 second club i used to have those stickers on my 99 lightning on the back window but no one would even try me so i took them off im glad to see that someone else has a lightning on hear WHAT DO U HAVE UNDER THE HOOD

Sounds like the drivers of that SRT were right in Dodge's target market for it, which unfortunately, includes my age group. Nice kill, I can't wait for the new Lightning, no AWD (damnit!!!) but it will still be cool and I may do a little trade here...snows on that truck would do ok, right?

Srt-10 is faster on the quarter mile
but that on a proto -type i heard the production trucks are going to be around the 5200-5500
which will push the trucks time up to around 13.0-13.2
most lightnings stock can do 13.5
my first run stock with 2000 miles i hit a 13.6
at the end of the weekend my fastest time was 13.34
all with in the new srt-10
0-60 times are the same.

biggest problem with this truck is that its a v-10 so mods are going to be outrageous.
as my truck stands now i would kill the new srt-10
for $3000 installed i added another 120 hsp matching the srt-10
and the SVT people figured i running 12.3-12.6
havent had a chance to make it to the track yet.

tranny // no problem had a valve body put in with the deep pan
with the chip and valve body tranny shifts hard and chirps in second every time.
next mod will be the bremo brake upgrade, the mods are doing havoc to the front rotors.

Wow, from just $3K worth of mods you are running the same numbers as the V10 that is good enough reason for me.

mods will be cheaper for you USA guys i had to bring them up from California so there was shipping and the dollars differance.
accually lower numbers in the performance area but have matched the srt-10 for horsepower and torq

believe it or not the lightning was 8 dollars a month less than the acura. (96in a year)
jetta is cheap was 25 a month cheaper
