hand-brake upgrade done on 01 CL

so my 6-speed swap has been postponed. My interior was taken apart and I was in the process of putting it back together for the mean while and I just went ahead and did this upgrade.
It was very easy, with that said, the hardest part of this whole thing was removing the cable for the foot brake.
difficulty level would be about 3-4 out of 10. had to drill 2 holes for the handbrake bolts, 1 hole was already there.

Pictures taken at night by a cellphone.

My friend is looking to do this "upgrade". Its already in the TL DIY thread for a little while.

Parts cost about 180 bucks new from the dealer.

Are those heated seat buttons functional right now? cause im sure you can use those for a project too.

Click TL at the top, 2nd gen TL section, and it's maybe the first or second sticky post on their main page.

That's how the car should've come instead of the mini van/truck foot brake that the auto has.

I agree that it looks out of place in the auto. No need for it in the auto as they don't need to use the e-brake every time they park their car like manuals do.

You should start installing the clutch pedal, so when you start the clutch install you can just hook it right up.

I like it! That's the only thing I didn't like about my 01 CL-S. The foot brake just felt out of place

i see you scratched the center console a bit, tell me that area wasn't the biggest PITA to reassemble properly and in line.

the scratch's been there. this whole center console came out of the parts car I have. I also have a brand new cup holder assembly that I'll replace it with when I get some more time.

The first time I was putting it back together, I had a little trouble lining it up, but in my case it was the carpet giving me trouble, after I pushed the carpet in and under it all lined up good except the gap between shifter and the cup holder assembly.
I just had to push the console towards front while tightening up the screws which took care of that problem also.

i'm using the original seat heater buttons. After the 6speed conversion, i'll be using the ones by the handbrake and the original ones will be no more.

I'll have an extra center console with cupholder plate and an extra handbrake after i'm done. let me know if u want both of them. i'll help u put them on too.

i've already removed the foot brake bracket and cut holes for the clutch. when ever i'm actually ready for the conversion, it'll bolt right on.

by the way, ur post reminded me of one of those xzibit quotes.
