A stock H22A (VTEC) makes about 165 to the ground... with i/h/e, it makes maybe 185 to the ground (max!).
The issue here is power-to-weight. For the CL-S, each horsepower needs to pull 14lbs, while for a H22a_civic, each horsepower needs to pull only 11lbs!!

sorry atlCl I was tripping with engine codes. although I was thinking about putting in a H22 into my car but i bet the wiring harness would be a b!tch(i know it would fit and I think the tranny would bolt up) i just think the wiring harness would be the biggest thing:P
by the time I do the motor swap i figured it would be( if i got a wrecked later model Prelude tear it down bore it, put Forged lower end on it, performance heads, Skunk2 cams, Intake,headers and pipe(i might be cranking 200 or 210 hp)
then the time to take to drop it in probably be in the 7-10 grand ball park
plus anymore for about 20-25 grand I can get a new V-6 Accord WITH A 6 SPEED and it's a new car I still think with a 2003 Accord V-6 i could at least give a a car like mine with a H22 motor(like listed about) a run

For 7-10 grand you could get the whole swap and put a turbo on it and run 300whp.

You guys do realize that motor swaps are nearly unheard of in Japan... since Honda offers the high-end motors across all platforms. Only in the U.S. where Honda never offerend DOHC VTEC motors in civics was when swappng became rampant... now Honda offers the Civic Si, RSX Type-S and each motor can be stroked or upgraded while retaining the same longblock... just replace the internals.
